mylof Posted July 28, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2011 We're leaving from New Orleans on the Carnival Triumph. The schedule says the boat leaves at 4. How early can we check in? We'd like to be on the boat as early as possible. Thanks much

bbwex Posted July 28, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2011 You can usually start checking in as early as 11:30, perhaps a tad later. Since you are new to Cruise Critic I am going to assume that you might also be new to cruising. Many will suggest, and I would agree to get to the ship early. There will be a lunch buffet, and you will have lots of time to explore and learn your way around. Your cabin will most likely not be ready, so you might have to lug your carry ons around, but by the time you check in and have lunch, you might be able to drop your carry ons off at your cabin and explore. Some people even put bathing suits, etc., in their carry on bags so they can relax by the pool. A bit of exploring will help you get your bearings as to what is where. As for getting your bearings, don't let it bother you that you often cannot remember which way you are facing. There are signs by the stairs and elevators telling you which side you are on and which way is forward and aft. Have a great time.
CruiserBruce Posted July 28, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 28, 2011 I am sure you will have other questions. The best place to start is the Carnival board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=215 You will learn a lot about Carnival, your ship, and your cruise. paul929207 Posted July 29, 2011 #6 Share Posted July 29, 2011 While you can board early, the cabins are not ready on Carnival ships until 1:30. So whatever you carry on, you will be lugging until then
