Midnight Buffet aboard the Summit

HA does not have typical midnight buffets anymore (nor do most other cruise lines). I believe that on a 7 night HA cruise you will get one late night Chocolate themed buffet. When we started crusing (seem like 100 years ago) cruise lines would have mid-night buffets every night. It was a terrible waste of food but we all did have a lot of fun. Those days are gone.

Celebrity discontinued the “Midnight Buffet” 2 or 3 years ago – too much food waste. It has been replaced with a “Breakfast/Lunch Buffet” on one of the at-sea days (during a 7-day cruise). It is scheduled from 10AM – 2PM. You must check the Daily Event Schedule for the exact day.

Celebrity used to do Gourmet Bites instead if the big midnight buffetts and the would walk around the common lounger areas and casino with trays of or d ouvers which I thought was fun and much less wasteful but haven't done Cebrity in quite a few years so probably gone

Hi,

My mother and I are booked on the Celebrity Summit for April 2012 Southern Caribbean 7 night cruise and am wondering if they have the Midnight Buffet if so how many nights do they have it.

Thanks in advance.

No midnight buffet. Enjoy the cruise. We did the same trip last April on the Summit and had a great time.

They don't have a midnight buffet everynight but they have 2 events during the week. The first is Caribbean Carnival Deck Party and Fruit Buffet. It was on Tuesday when we sailed out of San Juan. It was poolside at 10:30PM. Then on Thursday they had a Chocolate Extravaganza and Martini Ice Side. It was from 11:00PM to 12:15AM.

The chocolate extravangaza was a sight to behold. Clearly, celebrity's chefs and galley staff had spent a considerable amount of time and effort preparing some amazing chocolate concoctions.

Unfortunately, on our particular cruise, the event was marred by the hordes of people ready to pounce on the food - they literally had to be kept back by ropes and security. Everyone from toddlers in bare feet to grandmothers.....We took a few photos and left. Not like we needed more food at that point anyway! It really was not the elegant event I had pictured - LOL...

We did a Trans Atlantic the end of October 2010 and there was no midnight buffet. I think Celebrity has done away with them and rightfully so. It is a huge waste of food. There is so much food to be had all day long that a Midnight Buffet is wasteful and totally unnecessary. I think those days are gone forever. :)
