sueswny Posted September 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2011 Does anyone know if the ship will broadcast the Super Bowl game in Feb? (Celebrity Millennium) I'm interested in the 4 night W. Caribbean cruise--and it sails over Super Bowl Sunday--, but hubby won't go unless he can get the game on the ship
swigso Posted September 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2011 They did when we sailed on a Superbowl Sunday. And what a good party it was 2. I also remember sailing on the Jewel OS and watching the championship play-offs in the sports bar. It was a real party atmosphere and I think they had some beer promotions. jagoffee Posted September 10, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2011 Celebrity always showed the Super Bowl when I cruised. During the last Super Bowl the Eclipse changed the formal night so that we could have a Super Bowl party.
Highlander1 Posted September 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2011 I would think so, they show regular season games on Sundays and Monday nights.
Rare Lois R Posted September 11, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2011 I sailed on Superbowl Sunday this year (back in Feb) and it was shown......big spread of food in the theater along with the game on a GIANT screen that took up the whole stage. It was also shown in the Casino and if you wanted to stay in your cabin you could watch it there too. So, yes the Playoffs AND the Superbowl are shown. cynbar Posted September 11, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2011 We sailed once over Super Bowl Sunday, and last January were on Eclipse for one of the playoff rounds. I think all ships based in US waters make a big deal out of this. I know Celebrity did, with special snacks like you might find at a game (hot dogs and nachos and so on) and decorations. The game was shown on the big screen in Celebrity Central, and also on cabin TVs. It's always a lot of fun to watch in a festive atmosphere with other cruisers ---- unless your team loses, of course! CCATS Posted September 11, 2011 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2011 We do the super bowl cruise every year, on different ships, and have always found lots of places on board to watch it. We love the big, outdoor screening, with football food served during the game. We've sailed on several cruise lines, and they all have activities on Super Bowl Sunday. To be sure, check with your cruise line!
PartyAllDaTyme Posted September 11, 2011 #8 Share Posted September 11, 2011 They will even reschedule formal night if it otherwise would fall on Superbowl Sunday. Regarding "football food"-- no bratwurst, or at lease none in evidence on our sailing this year. A true crime against cheeseheads, especially with Green Bay playing. Hopefully, they'll have this corrected for the Packers Super Bowl appearance this coming February.
Bird Dad Posted September 11, 2011 #9 Share Posted September 11, 2011 We were on the Equinox last year during Super Bowl. They had a Super Bowl party in the main theater. They had they game up on the big screen, a buffet set up in the back of the theater with typical super bowl foods, wings, hot dogs, natchos, etc. Surprisingly the theater wasn't as crowed as I thought it would be. They did put out a nice spread.
