"Australia in a rut" says Carnival Report

Recommended Posts

Hmmm rut. I was talking TA this week and they said at the Melbourne Cruise expo which was on last week they were expecting 1000 people. 4000 people turned up. Seems like a lot of interest in cruising.

I also read a report on that Cruise Expo , that long lines developed as folk queued to book and pay deposits on cruises.

That does not sound like they are in a rut to me.;)

I think everybody is missing the point. The article is not aimed at people like us, those who take cruises and have a sense of adventure. They are trying to tie this in with a marketing campaign to get more people cruising. Carnival's who ethos is about adventure and fun so I think they are trying to get people off the sofa and onto the ship.

Have they achieved this, probably not, but again it's not really aimed at us.

I agree that most of the article is stupid but I have seen a lot worse out there!

there is a very easy way to get people off the couch and onto the ship here in Australia make the prices more realistic compared to overseas cruise prices!!!
