CD change to Liberty...Butch will be taking over!!

Where did you see this? JH still has Butch on the Dream through December. When is this supposed to happen? This will be our 3rd cruise, and Butch has been the CD on the other 2, which were on different ships. I like Butch, but I was kind of hoping to see how others do it.

Change to the CD schedule. Kirk Benning will leave the Carnival Liberty on October 8th and head to the Carnival Dream. Butch will then have a one week handover with Kirk and head to the Carnival Liberty. I wish them both well and I will post the CD schedule very very soon.

I don't mind this change - hope Butch will still be on Liberty in Dec. when we cruise! He was extremely good to my dh when dd got ill on Dream last Dec., and dd and I were off-loaded and left in Belize. He gave permission for my dh to use the guest services desk phone for the next 4 days to keep in contact with us in the Belize hospital. He made a lot of brownie points with my family for doing that!

Is it possible that they are doing this to have Butch bring her out of drydock after all the "upgrades", then onto the Magic?

I was baffled when I read that. Butch did an interview last Friday and said he was going on Magic after she gets to TX.

 

 

Last week Butch sent me an email telling me he was going to take over as CD on the Magic. I asked him when and here is his response...

 

Hi Mach-

 

 

I Join March 18th and take over on the 31st.

That's the info I have... I'll check with the guy who does the CD assignments...

Everyone's right!

I just heard from Chris...

Butch will be on the Liberty until sometime in January 2012. He will be on the Magic starting March 18 but will not be CD until 2 weeks after that date.

He is so full of energy... does he sleep ?

 

Had him on Libert february 2009 and Dream january 2010.

 

The guy is everywhere, everytime, lounge, casino, lido... maybe he works with his twin !

 

Best cd we had out of 6 cruises.

Gary Brierly? No one seemed to have anything to say about him good or bad. At least there is a lot of positive reponse to Butch.

 

Im thinking the same thing..lol there were a few posts on Gary they were ok people liked him HOWEVER the response for Butch was GREAT so Im hoping this is a good thing :)

 

We will be sailing with him in 50 days woohoooooo

We sailed on the Dream B2B with Butch this past Jan. During first week's sailing we had a problem and contacted Butch via Pursers desk. (have sailed alot and this was the first time we've ever had a problem)

 

Upon return to our cabin I had already received a phone call from Butch with his pager number. Very impressed = he was very genuine and even followed up a couple of times. Our problem was fixed promptly.

 

Butch was very energetic and as others have said very visable. I already enjoyed sailing with him, but to experience first hand his quick response and his willingness to share his pager with us for the remainder of our cruise exceeded our expectations.

Butch is awesome; he was the CD on my Glory cruise in September 2008. I wish he could be on the Freedom next October! He was very funny and wasn't too bad on the eyes either, but I think he plays on the same team as me... ;)

well that stinks :mad:.....i was excited to have him as our cruise director on our dream cruise the end of october. he is great as we had him once before on the liberty. wish he would stay just a bit longer on the dream.

I was hoping that John would still be the CD on our cruise. I hope the schedule doesn't get changed! Really looking forward to meeting him.

I have had Gary Brierly on my last 2 sailings, once on the Valor and once on the Destiny. I enjoyed him and thought he was very friendly and out and about a lot. I only have Todd Wittmer and Chris Jefferson to compare to and I have liked them all for different reasons.

This sounds like good news to me. So far, we've only had great news with this cruise. We've had great price drops with our ES rate. They added Roatan. Then, they announced the dry dock (hopefully we'll see if that means great new stuff tomorrow). Now, they're announcing that we have one of the best CD's. Too excited for our December cruise!
