Just off the Allure. Did the express check out, carried our own suitcase out, was off the ship and through customs at 7:15, in a cab as soon as I walked outside and was at FLL in a matter of minutes for less than $15 plus tip for the family (they run meter on way to airport.)

Any and all terminals I have been in,do have taxis waiting...

Not in Galveston. A very few that are gone pretty quick. Long ride to the airport so they can't turn them. One trip is all they are going to get for the day.

In Miami, if you get off among the masses, you may have a problem. DH had to go up to the drop off and "escort" a taxi down to where we could get in. Several people tried to hijack it inbetween.

If you self-disembark, no problem.

Sorry, I didn't know it was a Florida departures board. I saw the post on the Royal Caribbean general board and answered it.

Never had a problem in Florida except in Miami once when we were among the last colors to get off the ship. DH had to go to where they were letting passengers off and "escort" a cab to where they could pick us up fighting off hijackers along the way (lol).

Cab driver asked if we would share with another couple which we said we would as long as their luggage fit into the trunk because then we could split the fare pointing to the flat rate sticker on the window. He didn't like that answer and immediately darted out in traffic to get us to the airport practically leaving rubber on the payment.
