Staying in Renaissance in Newark

I confirmed with TA that thru Celebrity it is with taxes and transfers $201.50 for 2 people. However, this does NOT include parking...bummer. At least it doesn't for 13 days.

We are back to square one ..which I believe will be CI with private transfer to ship.

I knew it sounded too good to be true!!

Don't dispair. Country Inns will be just fine - they serve a nice free breakfast. IMO it's a better location to ditch your car for 12 days. You won't be trapped in the hotel - Jersey Gardens Mall is right there plus Ruby Tuesday's, IHOP, and the Courtyard for dinner. There's even an Ikea and ToysRus nearby.

 

Make a decision and book it - your vacation destination is the Silhouette, not Newark Airport.

Yes..i agree....the CI is a better location.

 

Am currently awaiting a room at the Ren.....and have been for about 2 hours....:mad:(yes i got here early..no they didn't pick up the phone, call HSKPG and have them get moving..)

 

went for breakfast...had a waffle...probably the WORST waffle EVER....BLECH! double BLECH! really...NOT good..:eek: and the service was bad...AND the so called 'manager' of the restaurant, when i told her about the lousy service, SCOLDED the server IN FRONT OF ME and the rest of the dining room (about 6 tables...)

 

SOoooo....whilst the rooms are lovely, i am disillusioned with the food here....will have to wait for my room.....and see. otherwise, i am gonna bag the points run here and go someplace else....

got into my room....clean and comfy overall...with a bangin' view of the airport...will post more pix later..when i feel like getting off my butt to get the camera card!:eek::p

OK..dinner was the polar opposite of breakfast! Great service...food was properly prepared and the little tiny beignets with chocolate dippin' sauce were...well...the only problem with them was that they disappeared....(seemingly into my tummy...:eek::rolleyes::o:p)

 

THUS....i would skip breakkie..even the coffee was bad. And they don't have a 'starbucks' or anything here...you'd be better off going to the airport.

 

(that said, maybe the lousy coffee was a one-off...who knows.)

 

I was happy with dinner...granted it was a burger, but believe it or not, even a burger can get messed up!

 

Still lovin' the view though...i can even see, hmm..maybe part of the new freedom tower?? whatever it is...lovely....
