Royal Caribbean season underway...

Recommended Posts

Rhapsody of the Seas arrived in Auckland around 6.30 am to start the season downunder.

, then carry on to Sydney...Interesting that Rhapsody has "backed" into Princes Wharf. Wonder if there is reason for that?

oops ...some of the text from above appears to have gone west

Radiance of the Seas is not far behind and will call into Auckland for 2 days and then carry on to Sydney...

Rhapsody is starting off with World Rugby Cup charter cruises.

Interesting that Rhapsody has "backed" into Princes Wharf.

Wonder if there is reason for that?

Every time (apart from maybe once) the Rhapsody has been in Auckland she has been in backwards.

I think the reasion why they put Rhapsody of the Seas in backwards is something to do with how deep the water is, where the Rhapsody of the Seas backside is.

But I am going to ask the Ports of Auckland and see if they can tell me :)

Can anyone tell me when Rhapsody sails off? I've got a perfect view of the harbour from my apartment and would really love to watch the ship I'll be sailing on next month departing :)

Hi sonicked.

The schedule has her leaving at 17.30 today.

RHAPSODY OF THE SEAS 06/10/2011 06:20 06/10/2011 17:30 BORA BORA NAPIER

To make the most of that view ,you may like to pop this link into your favourites.

Its the Cruise Ship schedule for Ports of Auckland.

We actually print off a copy each year as we see the cruise ships in the distance after they pass Tiri.

Did you see her?

The Captain got them away a bit ahead of time. I checked the cam and at 5.31 they were off Devonport and heading off down the channel.

They went past here about 6.50 and according to AIS were doing 18 knots.

Yes! She's a lot bigger than I was expecting. Even more excited for November, now!

Here are some photos I took of the Rhapsody of the Seas, the last time I went down to see her.

PS: Keep an eye out for more photos of Rhapsody of the Seas, as I am hoping to get more photos of her this season.

Thanks for those photos, David!

It's confusing that there are two Kiwi's :) ( I am not David ;))

If I had thought about it, I should have taken some photos. Perhaps if someone keeps us updated as to when she'll be leaving Auckland next time, i'll be more prepared =)

Keep an eye on this forum, as ether I or David, Will be posting when she is in :)
