ddean52 Posted October 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2011 Are there "free" hot sports on Allure? I know the cabins have it (for a fee)? Thanks! Dean

mtsnd1900 Posted October 22, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2011 .65c per minute for your connection in your room. you must first take any coupons you have to the reception desk on the promanade (come with repeat cruiser books, etc.), then go to the internet cafe/ game room to set up an account, then you can go to your room. Make sure to log out exactly as the pop up message tells you, or your connection will keep going. I ran into a slight issue where they billed me over $20 for service, only applying 1 of my 4 coupons I put down as payment - all at the same time. Issue was quickly resolved, but this was one mistake on my room charges that I did manage to catch right away and correct.
Langley Cruisers Posted October 22, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2011 Take your laptop into port and follow the crew. They pay for internet onboard ship too, so wherever you see them sitting down and typing, free WiFi. Alternatively, in port you can probably find an Internet cafe for a fraction of the ship's pricing.
Merion_Mom Posted October 22, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 22, 2011 Internet is not free anywhere, in any way, on any Royal Caribbean ship. Keep cruising, though. When you hit Diamond in the Crown & Anchor Society, you will get a coupon for some free minutes.

Rellyrooly Posted October 22, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 22, 2011 I must say I was a bit disappointed at the speeds of the wifi. My DH needed to do some work and it was so slow he couldn't really use it. What would normally take him but a few minutes, wound up charging us for 30 minutes. I will say they were great at guest services and recognized the problem and adjusted the charges for us.

Rare silentbob007 Posted October 22, 2011 #9 Share Posted October 22, 2011 It depends on how many people are using it and what the outside conditions are for the speed ... it is usually about dial-up speed, though.
Cruising89143 Posted October 22, 2011 #10 Share Posted October 22, 2011 I have found that wifi has worked well on both Oasis and Allure. Used it with no problems. Much quicker than dial up speed.
markadele Posted October 22, 2011 #11 Share Posted October 22, 2011 So if you bring your laptop and buy a minute package can you get wifi any where on the ship? (in your room) We will be on the Allure in 3 weeks:confused:
Rare silentbob007 Posted October 22, 2011 #12 Share Posted October 22, 2011 You have to go to a computer terminal and set up a wireless account. After that, you can use wireless anywhere. They have made all of the newer ships completely wifi accessible.
