Langoustine Posted November 9, 2011 #26 Share Posted November 9, 2011 There was a big price drop just before sailing (and after final payment) on our Bermuda cruise, which we had booked after an earlier price drop. I asked politely, and got a very nice upgrade. HAL is tops in my book so far.
Randyk47 Posted November 9, 2011 #27 Share Posted November 9, 2011 Oh! OK, thanks! I didn't realize that! I thought the price had to go below what I paid. Never hurts to ask, though! :) Just be aware that not all TA's are willing to rebate a part of their commission. Generally only very large Internet based agencies are willing and able to do that because they count on volume.
DFD1 Posted November 10, 2011 #28 Share Posted November 10, 2011 The email and snail mail notices are promotions, not sales. Price reductions come as the result of slow bookings. We find them from time to time. You can call them whatever....sales, promotions, cabin clearances, whatever. One of the things the cruise industry does best is promote. They do it in lots of ways. The notices you get in your mail box and on your computer are two of them.
