Half price Samba Grill on Allure?

I could not find any recent posts regarding this offer. Does anyone have recent knowledge? Is it still being offered to MTD guests the first 2 nights?

 

We cruise next week and are very interested.

We were on the 11/13 cruise and saw the signs at the MDR several times and saw staff during the day in the Promenade with info, so yes, it does still exist!

It was offered on the 10/30/11 sailing. We tried to make a reservation on the interactive television, but the only available times were 8:30 and later. My DH called and was offered the same times; when he kept politely refusing, our preferred time of 6:30 proved to be available after all.

Did the Samba Grill on the Oct. 23rd sailing and it was not good. In 21 cruises I have never rated the food less than excellent, but the Samba Grill sucked.

We did the special at Samba when we cruised on the Allure in September. The food was wonderful and we only made it through 5 of the 9 meats offered. It was a great deal and we would do it again in a heartbeat. However, it is located in the Solarium and it is rather warm so dress accordingly.

We sailed Allure last week and since we had read posts about the Samba half price special we asked about it on Day 1. There was a guy standing near Cafe Promenade making reservations.

 

It's supposed to be for MTD on just the first night again to the guy.

 

We signed up and it was great. Four of us ate for $50. The appetizer bar was the best and almost all the meats were terrific. Couldn't eat it all. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. At full price it would be worth it but especially for half price.

 

They told us it was to help reduce some of the MTD crowds on the 1st night.

On the RCCL website it says that desserts are extra, is this true?? One place doesn't state this but another place on the same website it does state this.

We were on Allure May 27 and had MTD. There was a message for us in our email on the interactive TV telling us that we could eat at Samba's on night 1 or 2 for half price. The desserts are not extra.

We were on the May 13th sailing. Samba was great. Don't go crazy on the appetizers if you're a meat lover.
