Just talked with my NCL PCC! Heres the "new deal" your level will be based your number of "stars" 1-3 copper level, 4-7 bronze, 8-12 silver, 13-15 gold, 16-19 platnium, 20 + platnium diamond! You get a quarter star for each cruise less then 7 days, half a star for 7+ days for inside. Add another quarter star for balcony and 3/4 star above balcony. You get another quater star if your on board account balance is over $500 or half a star if over $1000. Casino can add a quarter to one full star depending on amount of play. If you can prove your last cruise was on another line, they will give you a quarter star for sailing NCL this time. If you sail another line after Dec. 5 and show proof they will TAKE AWAY half a star but give you back a full star when you sail NCL again! and last but not least, if you can show proof you "flamed" another line on their facebook page or twitter they will add a half of star to your level.

I hope this clears it all up. :D

I almost believed this until I got to the flaming another line on facebook.

haha...I found this funny, but I hope NCL doesn't read it and emulate it.

So far no one on the thread I mentioned reported a negative change.

I cannot claim to be "reporting" a negative change, but I see the writing on the wall for a potential negative: In the past program, getting bumped from one level to the next was associated with a nicer perk than actually being at the new level: an OBC to use on your next cruise, if you booked it within six months. Have they bumped us up to higher levels without offering us that OBC? One would hope not, but note that even if they send those of us that they've upgraded an offer for that OBC, unless they also extend the usability of it, they've really thrown a monkeywrench in the long-term vacation planning that some of us do.

In my case, for example, I'm about to take my fourth NCL cruise, and planned to do my fifth in 2014, when I could next afford it, and when I would be able to use the OBC both my DW and I would get after THAT cruise to book our sixth and seventh as back-to-backs in 2016. If they accelerate the availability of those OBCs, but also accelerate their expiration, we won't get to use them.

It's not a deal breaker, but it is indeed a negative. A smallish negative. A nit. Something they could avoid easily enough, but probably won't. (It is, after all, in THEIR best interest for people like me to move up the dates for future cruises, long term plans notwithstanding.)

With all the cutbacks to save money, I find it hard to believe NCL will implement a program that benefits most cruisers. You may go up in status, but the perks will be less. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I just wish they'd make their announcement and end the pointless speculation.

Me too...and I was thinking, 'you gotta be freaking kidding me!'

LOL...I'm very gullible it seems :p

As an aside...I don't cruise for the purpose of obtaining certain levels. I know some people do and that's OK...but for me, unless they write me and tell me I can't sail NCL anymore, I don't care how they change this system.

All the guessing on here has been fun to read though :)

From the information I had received the announcement is supposed to take place next Monday, December 7, 2011 in a press release. I find it interesting that Camille says it will be Saturday when no one is really around in Corporate NCL. Either way, it’s coming in the next 7 days.

As for what everyone is seeing with their Latitudes level switching, they are in the process of converting everyone’s accounts to the new system. Chances are if you’ve moved then you’ve been converted already. This conversion takes time. Some people even received emails stating they had multiple accounts which were being consolidated. I found that part interesting for my mother who has never used a nick name with NCL like I have and I know I have more than one. Either way, they’re working on it. When they’re done is when the press release will come out.

Until that time… the speculation continues! I just hope when a new tier is added that changes are not made to the lower tiers. I was well on my way to Platinum and under the new system I have attained it so I fear something new may be coming to set those extra perks even further away! We shall see…

The speculation helps to build excitement for the announcement. Same thing goes for the new builds NCL has in the pipeline. The “TO COME” areas have a lot of speculation on these boards. It largely stems from what has worked on NCL so far, including EPIC, and what has not. Even some radical new ideas have been proposed for what they might stick in those areas. It’s fun to speculate because it gets people talking. It’s an excellent public relations move.

At least this speculating thread is upbeat for the most part. And much more interesting to watch than most.

I agree!!

C'mom people where is your sense of fun??

Do you remember being a kid and on the day or two prior to Christmas sitting around with your siblings, wondering and speculating on what you'd find under the tree the next day???

have some fun for goodness sake :)

After reading this thread, I singed in to NCL to find that my level is now gold (after 7 completed cruises - the 8th coming up in a few weeks).

Of course, I have no idea what it means, or how I got there! I guess we will all find out next week!

Looks like the wait is over! BikerAl just posted this in the other thread, provided by a senior person at NCL. Haven't matched up anyone else's data, but it works for me and my family.

1 cruise night = 1 pt

1 cruise night in suite = 2 pts

1 cruise night on sailing booked 9 months earlier = 1 additional pt per night

1 pt per night on cruise booked as monthly latitudes insider offer

didn't someone start a thread the other day asking why the NCL board wasn't as active as CCL??? well, maybe it's partially because if someone asks a question that is commonly asked, instead of giving them an answer, someone will reply with "do a search" or something sarcastic... maybe there would be more threads and more activity if we all just tried to be more polite and patient or, in the alternative, just ignore the posts that make you want to be mean. Not talking about a "one post wonder" who comes here just to make a slam to NCL for their own motives, but people who might accidently as a question that has been asked many times before... just a thought.

I think this is fun trying to figure out what the new program will be... like anticipation of Christmas like you said....

In a week, we'll all know for sure and the fun will be over...

here's hoping the new program will make everyone happy!!

Wow...I can't figure mine out because I don't recall exactly when I booked all the cruises I took  I think other than one (the short one I took on the Sky, which was a last minute surprise) they were all booked well in advance of 9 months prior but I can't say for sure.

I'm actually surprised NCL would keep all that data!

It's pretty cool though... :D

I don't care. I just want to cruise...the rest is icing on my cake. :)

I wondered how upsells to a suite would be treated. If I run the numbers according to this formula and include suite points for an upsell I had I would be gold, but I show as silver (was bronze before) so it appears I do not get the suite points. NOT COMPLAINING, just putting it out there because I haven't seen this discussed. I think I could make a reasonable argument for either position (awarding or not rewarding suite points for an upsell).
