Binks240 Posted January 4, 2012 #78 Share Posted January 4, 2012 On our 9/25 cruise it was listed as follows... Sunday night 9:45pm in Starry Nights Monday 8:30PM Starry Nights Tuesday - 4pm-6pm in Florentines then 7:30 in Starry Nights. Wednesday - at 7:30pm in Butterflies, and then at 10pm in Butterflies it is SuperStar Karaoke with with a live band Thursday - regular Karaoke at 7:30pm, SuperStar Karaoke at 8:30pm & 12am [all] in Butterflies Friday - 4-5 Florentines then 8:30PM Starry Nights Saturday - no karaoke listed. Hope that helps! **By the way Starry Nights is the smoking lounge so expect smokers and or smoke odors. ** We went to one night of karaoke in Starry Nights and the smoke did not bug me, and the people performing were really great. I was recently on the Fascination and they had the Karaoke SuperStar and it was great. It is just like Karaoke but there's a live band playing with you. It was very entertaining. I'll be on the Pride this August and can't wait!
jg51 Posted January 4, 2012 #79 Share Posted January 4, 2012 Oh, I haven't seen that one, and since it only happens once a year, I imagine it would be tough to find online. Sorry. We were under the mistaken impression that the Pride went to Bermuda more than once a year. You are right.
jg51 Posted January 4, 2012 #80 Share Posted January 4, 2012 The only other thing I remember about Pride karaoke is that they had it every day and I believe they had two versions, one being adult only. I also remember that it was not always at the same time each day so you really have to keep up with your Fun Times. Thanks for following up, "novinha." Thanks for the GREAT details (and smoke warning), "Danacat222." We will look forward to being in those three venues for singing and listening. I agree with all comments re starry nights club! Even if there are not people smoking it still stinks and makes you stink, now I am an occasional smoker, but because this venue is not well ventilated the lingering stale smoke smell is over powering. My hubby also loves to karaoke so we would just sit outside in the lobby till he was called if it was really bad. We found the "ivory bar" to be much more fun. It's a sing along piano bar and you can sing along alone or as a group or just chill around the bar. We wished we had gone in their eariler on the cruise as it would have become our go to place...that is our plan for next year since we are seriously considering taking the cruise again! Cookie329 Posted January 4, 2012 #82 Share Posted January 4, 2012 Considering booking the New Years cruise on Pride. Wondering if anyone has takena New Years cruise and what its like to sail the Pride in winter. Thanks We just came back from the Christmas day to new years day from Baltimore. We had a blast on new years eve, will have to say one of the most fun I have had in a while. Our three girls also had a blast! Our youngest 12, even said it was the first time she was not bored and has the best time! Lots of different places to go before the ball drop. Ball drop played on the big screen, balloon drop in atrium area. Music, dancing, food and free champagne .....LIBERALLY passed around! The night flew by. As far as winter crusing. Since we had mild temps we could enjoy the outside in a jacket or blanket. Hot tubs open and the in the senerity area was HOT! Pool area partially enclosed for kids. Very loud in that area though. It's not the time of year to go if your main plan is to lay out and sun sun sun...you might catch a bit of color at the ports...but it's a great time to enjoy the ship and even like I did our balcolny and cabin...reading, watching movies, room service. Playn cards etc...all in all very relaxing not as much pressure to be out and about as on a warmer weather cruise, at least that is how I felt. We are considering doing it again ! Our girls are totally in!
dmarie1623 Posted January 5, 2012 #83 Share Posted January 5, 2012 Talkedto my agent and he confirmed that an obstructed balcony is $20 less than the ocean view, so of course I had to switch. I have sailed twice before(eions ago) and never had a balcony, so I'm super excited. Our cabin is 5161.
star65 Posted January 5, 2012 #84 Share Posted January 5, 2012 Thank you Cookie329!! That sounds like exactly what we are looking for! You have convinced me to book. We really do love laying in the sun, but this time we really are just looking to unwind after the stress of the hectic holiday rush. Going to book the Pride for New Years, it really is pretty reasonable compared to ships out of NY the same time.

ladytonya Posted January 21, 2012 #88 Share Posted January 21, 2012 Wow, this thread is great! We haven't booked yet but are doing the May 27 sailing and I can't wait! We haven't been on a cruise since October 2009 but we haven't been on a Carnival cruise since 2003, done 4 cruises all together and this will be our third Carnival ship. Love reading all the info, keep it coming! My one question is regarding the balconies. We have only ever done ocean view rooms and are considering an obstructed view balcony as it isn't much more than the OV. How are the obstructed balconies? Keep in kind that we have never had a balcony and money is not plentiful, even doing a cruise is a splurge for us. Would we be just as happy saving $100 and doing an OV or is having a balcony really all that? Opinions greatly appreciated! Oh, yeah! Now that I am on my laptop and regarding the cabins, the obstructed view balconies that we are looking at are 5238 or 5245 in the aft portion of the Upper Deck or 5188 or 5189 midship. The first time we cruised, our TA said to get a midship room port side and we did that on our first two cruises. Our last one was a last minute booking and we got what was available, a forward cabin on the starboard side, and that was fine with us, we're not overly picky. I had read somewhere that those first two cabins I listed are great because the balconies are slightly larger than the balconies on the others that I've listed, but like I said we've never had a balcony before and aren't too picky, just trying to maximize the experience because it isn't something we do regularly. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!! If the balcony is not much more than the OV, I would definitely go for the balcony. This will give you an idea if you like the balcony without having to pay a lot more. I love having a balcony...it's great to stand out on your own space when you want to. You can also order room service and sit out on your balcony and eat. I say go for it! brklyn78 Posted January 23, 2012 #90 Share Posted January 23, 2012 Is the disco only accessed from the spiral stair? Is there an accessible entrance from the lower deck below? There is no public entrance on the lower level. If someone needs access, they will escort them through what looks to be a kitchen. At the end of the reception my feet were tired and didn't feel like dealing with the steps in heels, so they let me and a few others use this exit. I was wondering if you saw any tables for 12 in the main dining room? Thanks! Terri The pride is mostly 4 and 6 person tables. There is at least one 9 person table, and a table for 10 that they like to reserve for groups with someone needing handicap access. I was told that the 9-top was the biggest one I could get. It might be a bit late at this point, but if you have a group you should talk to the group dining department about table assignments, if you are doing the scheduled dining times. They can arrange for your group to be seated at tables near each other. We had a group of 25 and were all seated in the same section.

fair28 Posted February 1, 2012 #95 Share Posted February 1, 2012 My wife and I just got back Sunday (1/29) from our second cruise on the PRIDE. Great experience again. We'll probably go again next year hopefully with more people, as many as we can convince! Drove to Baltimore from upstate NY, normally not a bad drive, but, this time lots of snow. Great to go someplace warm! Experience wonderful again. Can't wait to sail again!

Smithkids5521 Posted February 1, 2012 #97 Share Posted February 1, 2012 Hello to everyone currently on the Pride!! You lucky ducks!! LOL!! :D For those of us on land wishing we were on the Lido deck- maybe you'd like to look over copies of the FunTimes for the Pride (I have been checking out all the things I want to be sure not to miss...Afternoon Tea time-check! Wine Tasting/food pairings-check! Superstar Live-check!) This is also good for any newbies to Pride- it will give you an idea of some of the activites that occur onboard. These times are from July, so of course they may change by the time you sail, but at least it gives you a good idea... the link is to John's blog and it shows the times from the GT/HMC/Freeport itinerary but if you'd like to view a different one just click up to parent directory... Enjoy! :) http://johnhealdsblog.com/funtimes/2011-07-21/Carnival%20Pride/GT-HMC/

novinha Posted February 1, 2012 #100 Share Posted February 1, 2012 Its almost our turn....not trying to hurry you off(well maybe a little) As you get off we will be getting on. How is the Serinity area? Cant wait to sit out there with a DOD!!! Serenity is really nice. But it is certainly not worth waiting like a vulture for a spot, as many people do. So, if it's full, don't wait around, just go up one deck and its peaceful and quiet...and there are plenty of deck chairs available. Chair hogs abound in Serenity, some saving both loungers and a hammock to ensure they get both sun and shade. All I'm saying is don't let it ruin an otherwise nice time. There are many nice places to spend you outdoor time on Pride
