Pool temperature

The pools are filled with sea water and drained nightly so the pool temperatures will be similar to the water temperatures you are sailing through. The hot tubs are the fresh water and they are not drained nightly. They will be at a set temperature which in our experience is usually about warm bathtub, in the 90's.

according to carnival faq:

What is the water temperature of the pool in the spa?

There may be 3 types of pools on a ship:

Outside pool – on average about 85.46 degrees Fahrenheit (29.7 degrees Celsius)

Inside pool – on average about 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius)

Jacuzzi – on average about 93.2 - 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit (34 - 38 degrees Celsius)

overall, i felt the outdoor hot tubes on deck was warm and not that hot

I hear that they drain pool and hot tubs every night and refill them. Are the pools heated and if so are they warm? Going for first cruise on Ecstasy end of Jan.

The pools start the day at the same temperature as the sea, and warm up as the sun heats them. There are heaters but I have never felt them being used.
