Also, October 4, 2012 on the Westerdam. I have cruised on the Westerdam before and like the size & price of the Vista ships. I do believe they also do a Hawaii/Tahiti cruise in Jan-March on one of the smaller ships. Cheers, Denise
windsor26 Posted December 19, 2011 #27 Share Posted December 19, 2011 The difference between a short cruise or even a couple of b2b cruises against a 28day or longer cruise is the way people interact. I have been on a 75 day cruise and a 49 day cruises. You get to know fellow cruisers better and make strong friends as well as have more chance to organise activities with other people who want a chance to do the same thing. For instance on our last cruise we were taught mahjong by some people we had not met before but had a wonderful time. The sea days are full and you can make them what you want them to be. Often you need the sea days to get over the fabulous time you will have on the Pacific islands. If you go to Bora Bora you must do the underwater walk (helmet walk) it was the hilight of our Island stops. Enjoy your cruise:D

flamomo Posted December 20, 2011 #30 Share Posted December 20, 2011 I was on the 10/22 to 11/18/2011 r/t LA-HO-Samoa-Tahiti-LA cruise and LOVED it!!! It was the best cruise I have done, much as I have really enjoyed every cruise I have been on. I found the sea days no problem, including those last 8 straight sea days. While we were out of satellite range for TV for almost 3 weeks, if we felt we just had to know what was going on in the world, we could get a little update via the internet. And there was nothing earthshaking in that timeframe. I preloaded my Kindle with a dozen or so books, so never lacked for reading material. I thoroughly enjoyed knowing I had all day, every day, to just laze around, visit the casino, relax on the balcony or a deck chair, go to an activity if there was something that interested me, see an afternoon movie in the theater, etc. The opportunity to revisit the Hawaiian islands and the French Polynesian islands, and make a first visit to the Samoan islands, without an international flight to/from Papeete or somewhere else quite remote, was a trip of my dreams. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I added a 7 day B2B to the end of it, which was another thing off my bucket list. And even at the end of that one, I was very sad when it was time to disembark. bandmp Posted December 20, 2011 #33 Share Posted December 20, 2011 My husband and I went on this cruise Oct./Nov., and really enjoyed it. The 8 sea days were wonderful. By day 26 we were ready to get home, but we still had fun. I think that the reason we were anxious to get home was because Thanksgiving being so close, and we were missing our grandkids. It really was the trip of a lifetime!! :)Mary
Minoushka Posted December 20, 2011 #34 Share Posted December 20, 2011 I recently came back from 20 days on Epic The MED and Transat Surprisingly enough I loved the seadays 4 then 5 a few days later Had leisure breakfasts ,played Trivia a few times a day did arts and Crafts, sat in the sun , read ... I really enjoyed the ocean and not rushing anywhere .So basically you must ask yourself what do you like to do on lazy days If you can handle what I mentioned you should be fine Check out the library for books Of course we wwere near the Caribbean so it was nice to lie in the sun
