Pier Upgrades?

Has anyone been able to do this recently or is it a thing of the past?

 

If so, how much did you pay to upgrade and for how many cat.? Hoping to do this on an upcoming Oasis cruise.

Rare as hen's teeth.

 

RC does upgrades starting 2 to 3 weeks before the sail date.

 

Don't expect anything at the pier.

Do you mean free upgrades or where you pay for one? Free upgrades do occur at the pier during boarding on cruises of less than 7 nights. The 7 or more night ones are done from Miami and those that are less are done at the ship. We have had the latter done.

I believe the only upgrades available at the pier are from last minute cancellations, and there probably aren't many of those.

 

There are revenue upgrades that occur before the cruise, to sell the most cabins possible and fill the waiting list in the best selling categories, then whatever inventory is left goes to Crown & Anchor for loyalty upgrades during the last week or two.

 

On our last 3 cruises there's been a sign at the entry to the check-in area that said "No Pier Upgrades Available."

Upgrades at the pier are done thru the Pier Coordinator's desk and are only available with last minute cancellations, such as sudden illness or death or snowstorms. Don't count on it. We have done it twice.
