I'm actually going on the Liberty again this November. My challenge will be to do another review - but this time to get images of things and from a perspective that's unusual and interesting.

Saw this review pop up to the top of the boards and just re-read our experiance. Fantastic. Deb and I did the Liberty again in 2012. Loved it just as much as the first time.

 

We are sailing the conquest Nov 16th. It is an 8 day repositioning cruise out of San Juan. Debarks in Miami.

 

One of these days we should see if everyone can get on the same ship.

You happen to be in the same boat that I am. I been reading lots of reviews and I want a new perspective. Something a little different, I enjoyed your fisheye pictures a lot, I bet there is a lot more that can be done with that lens. Maybe also long exposure pictures, there is a lack of those.

 

I will be trying something new in my breakaway review and see how that goes.

We will be in Grand Turk on 2/21/2013 while aboard the Carnival Liberty. We are planning to have a "beach day" while on the island, but I would also like to check out Jack's Shack and Margaritaville. How far are these two from each other and the port (walking distance)?? Thanks for your help!

Wow, this is a great review. The pictures are wonderful. It sure does bring back memories of the Liberty. I loved this ship, but I need to get my buns out of bed, and get to work. I hate to stop reading this thread, but have to make some money for my next cruise.

 

I just realized that this trip was last year. Wow, I am glad someone found it and brought it back. I must have missed it. Excellent.

We will be in Grand Turk on 2/21/2013 while aboard the Carnival Liberty. We are planning to have a "beach day" while on the island, but I would also like to check out Jack's Shack and Margaritaville. How far are these two from each other and the port (walking distance)?? Thanks for your help!

 

Margaritaville is awesome. They have a huge pool, music, a swim-up bar and a flow-rider. I've never been to Jack's Shack but I hear it's good too and it's a short walk down the beach from Margaritaville. You can go to Jack's Shack's website and print a coupon for a free drink. Have fun!!

Margaritaville is inside the terminal complex (less than 100 yards).

 

Jacks Shack is maybe 1/2 mile outside the complex...you go right by it when the ship comes in for dock. You can either walk up the beach or just take the road.

Was your cruise recent? I thought I read that Liberty doesnt have sushi anymore. Can you tell me where to find it?

 

We grabbed some Sushi from the sushi bar and hung out in our cabin until time for dinner (we had late seating). We went to the Silver Dining room (3rd floor, aft) at 8:00. After a bit, quite a line developed behind us as people were waiting to enter. At precisely 8:15, the doors were opened and we were escorted to our table. We were seated at a 4-top booth and met our table mates for the week - a delightful couple from Miami - Marino and Mercy. Mercy didn’t speak very much english, but she followed the conversations pretty well and really warmed up to us by the end of the week. We really enjoyed our times with them and hearing about their onery grandkids. Guess how I remembered “Marino from Miami’s” name?

We also met our waiters for the week - all of them were absolutely awesome. Our head waiter was Larry, then we also had Cosmin and Tuty assisting. Sorry, I didn’t get a picture of Larry. I did get one of Cosmin and Tuty though. Sorry for the quality, it was a very low light area and the ship was moving - and I don’t like to have flashes in the MDR setting like that.

For dinner I had the Cured Salmon / Candied Tomato for a starter, Pan Seared Talapia for my main...and of course WCMC for dessert. Taren had the chicken tenders and the sweet and sour shrimp and WCMC for dessert. My WCMC was a bit “overdone” in that there was no “melting” in it. I was a little disappointed, but I found out later what I can do about it (more about that later).

 

After dinner, we were pretty beat, so we headed off to bed. Tomorrow was Half-Moon-Cay!

I'm afraid I can't tell you much about lunch - Guys was so good, we always ate away from the MDR. I can tell you, however that we ate Breakfast a few times in the aft room and it was great.
