Outside viewing area above the Bridge of the ship...???

I have a question...

 

How does a person get to the outside viewing area above the Bridge of the ship??

take Lido deck 15 all the way forward--if the doors are unlocked you're welcome outside. when at sea the doors are locked due to the wind

I think it depends on the ship. I know that Star and Sapphire have stair access from Lido deck

but have also read that other ships have access through one of the passageways. Also, I

think (JMHO) that access is restricted when the ship is at cruising speed.

The access varies from ship to ship but all of the ships that I have been on so far have it.

That's not quite right.... on the Emerald/Ruby/Crown/Caribbean Princesses, the bridge wings are accessible through doors forward on Lido deck (deck 15). On all the other Grand-class vessels, the bridge wings are accessible by going forward outside on Sun deck (deck 15).

You are correct......I forgot to account for the extra deck on Emerald/Ruby/Crown/Caribbean Princesses which puts the Sun Deck one deck higher......;)

Last year on the Crown you could only go up there when in port- they would make you leave and then lock the doors shortly before departure

We've never seen those doors locked however I assume on very windy days or during rough seas they would be.

 

It's one of our favourite places to be during sail away.

No,That is part of the balconies of M107 and M108.

Good reply. The same is true on the Panamax ships for viewing the approach to the Panama Canal. We are looking forward to being on the Caribbean Princess for the new locks partial transit.

some passengers had fooled with some electronics there.
