kmc500 Posted January 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2012 In reading some of the threads here at CC, I have become enthralled with the idea of a back to back cruise. The thought of being able to skip the worst part of the cruise (the leaving) at least once strikes my fancy. For those of you who have booked these on Carnival, is there any special process? Seems a bit confusing on the Carnival web site. Thanks for any tips you can provide. Kevin C
big_duck Posted January 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Do it over the phone. Much easier to fin a matching cabin for the 2 cruises that way. The website works great for booking one cabin one cruise. Any other combo should be done by phone.
Holidayz Posted January 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Duck, I just did this on Sunday for b2b on the Glory in Feb. I did mine on line it was easy. I just did a little research to see what cabins were available for both cruises, I like to stay in the same cabin, I did for two cabins across from each other, one for DH and one for the kids. It is so fun not to have to leave after the first leg when your just getting in the groove. I have done it just once before and looking forward to doing it again. I'm keeping it a secret from the kids, they are always so sad to leave on the last day!:)
MSRussell Posted January 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2012 If you do book one, be sure and print out your boarding pass for the last one. It was a lot easer for me to show that I WAS a B2B, also, it really helped when I left the ship for an hr and came back on. It told a worker who was outside the ropes I was a B2B, showed her my boarding pass, and she escorted me around the loooonnngg line to get back on the ship. I had to change rooms, so I printed out luggage tags, put them on, and the new Steward was nice enough to put my luggage in the new room while he cleaned it. He also told me to claim I wasn't feeling well on the 2nd muster drill, so I just stayed in my room and didn't have to go. It was a fun experience, wouldn't hesitate to do it again if I had the chance. Melanie

I would call and let them tell me the best choices (at least my PVP would). My PVP knows my preferances so well, she would know what choices I would like. jonbgd Posted January 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2012 I would definatly book direct. Let the PVP do the work. It will make it easier on you. I used to have a great PVP but he moved up and the new one:eek: I have forgotten more about the ships than she will probably ever know:rolleyes: I now book thru an online TA but over the phone. serene56 Posted January 10, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 10, 2012 you will need to book two cruises as two separate bookings. There is not an option to book 2 cruises like that online. you will have two separate booking numbers. and will have two separated sign and sail cards
kmc500 Posted January 10, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Thanks everyone for the tips - I sure am looking forward to a B2B. I'll let you know when/what I book. Kevin C

Kevin C We booked ours online and I don't know if it was necessary or not but I called Carnival so that they could link the bookings so they would know it was a back to back. (I read that here somewhere, sometime :D)
MSRussell Posted January 10, 2012 #11 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Good idea about having Carnival link the bookings. I made the mistake of booking through Delta Cruises, and until the last minute, it didn't show I was Platinum. Even my boarding pass didn't show VIP. I had gone to guest services a few times to make sure they were 'linked'. When I got my new sign and sail card on my 10th cruise, she plopped a gold one if front of me. I had to tell them I was Platinum. It worked out in the end though.
ready2cruzagain Posted January 10, 2012 #12 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Like most others I called Carnival and booked my last one. My next one is with a TA. You will LOVE it. I will have a hard time doing another cruise without it being a b2b.
