We loved the aft balcony. My parents had a side balcony, they said the cigarette smell from the rooms in front of them kept them from using it. We didn't notice any smoke on the aft of the ship.

 

We just booked another aft balcony on our 2014 cruise - we can't wait!

The Mariner is off to Asia next year, so the Navigator will be taking her place in Galveston - anyone know of any pro's vs cons of the Navigator?

The Mariner is off to Asia next year, so the Navigator will be taking her place in Galveston - anyone know of any pro's vs cons of the Navigator?

The ships used to be virtually identical. Mariner has had some new features added such as the outdoor movie screen, Boardwalk Dog House, Giovanni's Table, Diamond Club, and pervasive WiFi. Navigator gets most of the same features next December with the addition of Park Cafe and Chef's Table, but the loss of the Dog House.

We also love the rear facing balcony cabins - we just booked the aft balcony #9392 on our 2014 cruise!
