Butchart Gardens in the morning

Hi - My Mom & I would like to see the gardens in the morning before we depart Sat. afternoon. We get in the day before, so would like to go over to Butchart on our own - what is the best way to get there? We're staying in downtown Vancouver. Is it best to take a Gray Line tour? The only one I saw listed didn't go til Noon.

Butchart Gardens are on Vancouver Island near the city of Victoria. They are not anywhere near the city of Vancouver. A visit from Vancouver would entail a ferry ride of several hours each way just to get to Vancouver Island. The tours that leave from Vancouver, generally, are a full day. Don't think you will see them this trip. I had to skip them on my first trip to the area. Cruising to Victoria next month. Will finally get to visit the gardens then.

I never recommend Butchard Gardens and Victoria as a day trip. Just too much. :) If this is a MUST DO, I would arrange a flight. But there are some great gardens in Vancouver too to consider.
