Amanda1978 Posted February 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Hello fellow cruisers, I am about to take yet another cruise with Carnival but am going on the Dream. I want to hear what your favorite spots on the ship are, your favorite actvities that they offer and or favorite drink they have. I am cruising with 2 newbies and would like them to hear from other cruisers about the ship and why they love Carnival. I look forward to hearing from you Cheers, Amanda
scchasgal Posted February 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Our cove balcony was a favorite as well as the hot tubs hanging off the sides on deck 5. We enjoyed the hammock in the evening in the Serenity area.
Planner48 Posted February 19, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2012 There are just too many areas to choose from. The one thing you want to do as soon as you board though is go to the Italian restaurant. It is only open mid day and gets busy later in the week. If you like Italian food it is the place to be. cruzlovr75 Posted February 19, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 19, 2012 The Dream doesn't have that Italian Restaraunt you're dreaming about! I wish! I think they meant the Pasta Bar located in the aft section of the ship up the back stairs? We are going to go there for lunch the first day of the cruise. :)
JennLuvs2Cruise Posted February 19, 2012 #11 Share Posted February 19, 2012 There is no Italian restaurant on the Dream; there is just the Pasta Bar located on Deck 11 aft. It's only open for lunch (12-4) and is free. The Italian restaurants that are on Magic and soon to be the Breeze is different from the Pasta Bar on the Dream. On the Magic and Breeze, it's open during dinner hours with a special dinner menu for a nominal fee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
JennLuvs2Cruise Posted February 19, 2012 #12 Share Posted February 19, 2012 Forgot to answer the actual questions for this post, lol. I sailed the Dream twice, so that should tell you how much I loved that ship! I really loved the variety the Dream had for lunch.. Pasta bar, burrito bar, buffet, grill, tandoori, Mongolian wok, deli.. Plus the main dining room & lanai BBQ on sea days. Absolutely loved the WaterWorks slides, I found them to be quite fun & enjoyable, definitely not just for the kids! I really enjoyed the comedy shows and Dancing in the Streets - the Fun Force dance team was also entertaining. Ocean Plaza is a great place to enjoy a drink and watch a fun live band at night. The casino can be quite lively and fun at night - I met some great people at the roulette tables. If you want an excellent dining experience, try the Chef's Table or the Steakhouse - both are excellent & worth the extra fee! My favorite drink was & still is the Kiss on the Lips (mango & strawberry daquari). Have a GREAT cruise - you'll love the Dream! We are going to go there for lunch the first day of the cruise. :) This is our plan also, go to the pasta bar the first day while the buffet is a mad house. We love the Lanai, no pools but never crowded. The lanai BBQ on sea days is great. I would take the lanai over the adult only area on the Dream. We also love the Cloud 9 Spa. Hoping to get a pass for the week on our next cruise. We stayed in a spa suite the last time but have a cove balcony the next time.

That would be great to be open until 4.

Now it is on all the Carnival ships. Go to the Pasta Bar. It was pretty good. It is somewhat out of the way. Nice place.
Brendarudd28 Posted February 19, 2012 #16 Share Posted February 19, 2012 First, I'll have to agree with the others - the Pasta Bar is a not-to-be-missed place. I'm so glad I tried the lasagna. It was unique, but oh so yummy! My personal favorite place on the Dream was in the Serenity area. We went up the stairs through the spa. If you turn left and go through the automatic sliding door there and venture towards the back of the Serenity area there's a seating area under a lattice of wood. A nice long couch-like seat is there. It was my absolute favorite spot as I could lay there in a bit of shade to read. But the topper is that there is some sort of huge vent in that area that blows a relatively cool breeze. It was super nice on the hotter days to just sit there and not be baking in the heat. :) Enjoy the Dream!

EMc&DrS Posted February 19, 2012 #23 Share Posted February 19, 2012 There are hot tubs in the Serenity area, and we had better luck finding an empty one there than on the Lanai: But the ones on Lanai are pretty cool if you can find an empty one: Water slides were fun too: And after all that activity, you need to have a relaxing dinner at the Steakhouse:
teacher34 Posted February 19, 2012 #24 Share Posted February 19, 2012 We sailed on the Dream last March and we loved it ! We especially loved the Serenity area and the spa. My DH and I ended up getting the week pass to the spa and we went every day. We loved that thallassopy (sp?) pool and the steam rooms. Also, the heated lounge chairs were fantastic!! We went to the pasta bar the first day as soon as we got on the ship and that's the thing to do, because it becomes really crowded later. We loved all the shows and enjoyed one of the comedians a lot. We had a terrific time and I wish we were going back on it this March. I know you will have a terrific time!
