Boytjie Posted February 21, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2012 Wondering what it is like and what kinds of slots they have? Just off the Nieuw Amsterdam and the casino was pretty much the same as on the other HAL ships. There were a cariety of 1c, 25c and $1 slot machines; roullette, craps and various blackjack tables - and I am sure poker too but I don't usually pay attention to that. And it also had that machine with the coins that 'push' the prizes off the ledge.
onthegogirl Posted February 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2012 I was on the NA on her first TA and all I remember was that the casino was cold, cold, cold especially around the poker table. When it was in the 80's outside, we were huddled around the table in jackets, hoodies, and blankets. The casino staff tried to help us out by blocking some of the vents but engineering made them take out the blocks. Luckily the cards weren't that cold.;)
Boytjie Posted February 21, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2012 It was comfortable in the casino last week.
catl331 Posted February 21, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2012 Never did see any "prizes" pushed off by that machine. Also the "prizes" seem to be scratch off tickets. Bah! Smoking is allowed in casino. (no comment).
Boytjie Posted February 21, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 21, 2012 Interestingly enough the casino did not seem as busy on this cruise (too many distractions?) and the sports bar and casino area wasn't too smokey.
Typhoon1 Posted February 22, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Interestingly enough the casino did not seem as busy on this cruise (too many distractions?) and the sports bar and casino area wasn't too smokey. I also noticed this every time we walked past. Probably plenty of other activities to keep guests busy. :D:D
doublebzz Posted February 22, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 22, 2012 I was on the NA on her first TA and all I remember was that the casino was cold, cold, cold especially around the poker table. The craps table was also very cold as it usually is on most shipboard casinos.
