Ok I searched and searched for reviews on this cruise before we left and was only able to find a few out there! So I tried to write down and take pictures of everything I could so that I could write a good review for this cruise! Let me start out by saying that we had an AWESOME time and I love this ship and all of her crew!!!! NEVER once was I disappointed in the service that we received!!!

Day 1

We drove down on Thursday night and stayed at the Country Inn and Suites. It was a nice place to stay with a great shuttle to port! Dwayne is so funny and makes the ride over even more exciting!! We arrived at port about 11:15. We quickly went through security (and on a side note....we had three rum runners in our carry-on and we never even got a second glance) and checked in in about 5 minutes! This was our first cruise as gold members so it was nice to have our own little section to sit in while we waited to board. We were boarding by 11:30! Once we got onboard we grabbed our unlimited soft drink package and headed to the Windjammer. Lunch was typical buffet stuff; nothing to write home about but not bad. After that we went down to add our friends to our table for dinner. We choose to do MTD for the first time and I would HIGHLY reccommed that! I never felt like we had to rush to dinner at night!!! Then off to the Spa to book a pedicure and Top to Toe treatment! Then off to the pool for a little while! It was overcast so we didn't do much laying out, only people watching! QUITE ENTERTAINING!!! After the Muester drill I headed to the spa for my pedicure. It was good but honestly I have had better at home for half the price. Then it was back up to the pool deck to find DH. He was having a little bit too much fun so I had to take him back to the room for a nap before dinner! :D We went to dinner at 7:45 and the food was great!!!! I had the scallop risotto for my appetizer, the lamb shank for my entree, and the tiramisu for dessert. After dinner we dropped some cash in the casino and then finished the night at the 70's party at Bolareos. That was alot of fun!!! Drew Devine is so much fun!!!

Day 2: Nassau

We woke up around 8 and I was off to the spa again for my Top to toe treatment which consisted if a full body massage, facial, and eye treatment! It was so relaxing!!!! After that I threw on my swimsuit and went up to the pool deck to watch us pull into port. The weather was great and the sun was shining bright!!!! After docking we went to the Windjammer for lunch. I had a hamburger and fries and MAN WAS IT GOOD!!! I thought the food on the buffet was much better than the day before! We then went back to the cabin and changed clothes before heading off the ship. We walked through Festival Place and picked up some maps of Nassau and then off to find a horse carriage tour. We found the horses and took about a 45 minute tour. Our tour guide did a good job of showing us the city. Our friends were not as lucky. The guide they got was about half out of it and didn't do a good job at all! After our tour we walked around a little and then went to the straw market. That place is just NOT for me! It seemed like EVERY booth had the same things and I just didn't see anything really UNIQUE! So we left the straw market and decided to check out the fish fry to try some conch fritters. We decided to walk because it didn't look that far on the map. I WAS WRONG!! It was about a 20 minute walk! It was along the water so it was nice but much farther away than I thought! We ended up eating at Twin Brothers. It was good! The conch fritters were really good!!! And the drinks were good too!!! After eating we decided to take a cab back to Senor Frogs and took some pics! Then we walked around town and had a Light Kalik!! Very good beer! I liked it better than Red Stripe from Jamaica!! I did talk to a VERY VERY nice lady selling straw bags across from Diamonds Int. The bags were like NOTHING I saw anywhere else!!! Beautifully made and my friend and I both bought one for about $30. Then it was back to the boat to get ready for dinner. For dinner tonight I had the Shrimp cocktail and escargot for appetizers and the duck for my entree. I has the strawberry cheesecake with ice cream for dessert! It was all SOOOOO GOOD!!!!! After dinner we went to see the Comedian, it was a little corny for me!! Then we went to the casino to throw some more money away! :) Then we went up to the pool deck for the midnight buffet and pool party!!! After that it was up to Sorrentos for some pizza before bed.

On to day 3: CocoCay

We woke up around 8:30 and went up to the Windjammer for breakfast. After breakfast we got our beach stuff together and down to deck one to the tender. I think we were able to get on the second tender of the day! The water was a little rough but the ride over was still nice! Once on the island we found some chairs near the wacky Seagull bar and layed out until lunch was ready. And of course had a coco loco which was strong and GOOD!!!We ate lunch and the food was very good. I got the jerk chicken and ribs! The birds were swarming around but didn't seemed to be as bad as last year! so that was good because I HATE THOSE BIRDS!!! LOL! After lunch we decided to take a walk around the island. It seems that everyone congregates near the main beach area but we found some beautiful more remote places around the backside of the island. There were PLENTY of available chairs!! The water seemed to be warmer on that side as well! After our walk we decided to talk a walk on the nature trail. The trail is VERY rough and there would be no way to walk on it without shoes on! Luckily we had taken our flip flops with us! The only "nature" we saw on the trail was a tiny lizard, some small birds, and a ROOSTER....That was quite random!! After our walk we picked up our snorkel gear and headed out. We saw so many awesome fish!!! My friend even saw a stingray!!! I was jealous because I so wanted to see one! :) After snorkeling for about an hour and a half we went back to our seats for some more sunning! It was about 85 degrees with a slight breeze! Just perfect!!! We noticed that the water looked much rougher than it did when we got on the island. We left about 3:30 and the water was so rough that it was hard to get off the tender when we finally got to the ship! For the first time the ENTIRE cruise we were really feeling the boat move! It doesn't bother me but the poor souls that do get seasick were in bad shape! After our long day at the beach we were starving and weren't planning on eating dinner until 8 so I ordered a little room service! :) We ordered a caeser salad, honey stung chicken with sweet potato fries, spinach and artichoke dip, a fruit plate, and 3 chocolate chip cookies. It arrived in about 10 minutes and was really really good! We then went up to the casino to get a few drinks and throw away yet even more money!!! Our friends were fortunate though, they won almost $500 in the wheel of fortune slot machine! We had NO LUCK!!!!! So we drank beer as we watched our friends win money! :) After that we headed up to the MDR for our last dinner. Raj and his assistant Hui Li were SO GREAT!!! We really enjoyed their service!!!!! For dinner tonight I had the french onion soup and shrimp cocktail for my appetizer, the shrimp and mahi mahi tempura, and the key lime pie with ice cream for dessert! Raj was also great to bring us extra entree or appetizer to share! After dinner we spent some time in the piano bar then we headed back to the cabin to pack up. On Monday we got up, ate our last breakfast in the Windjammer and headed off the ship. We were off the ship and waiting for our cab back to Country Inn and Suites in about 20 minutes!! I did save all of the cruise compasses so I will try to upload those and some pics this evening!

Nice Job! I can't wait to see your pics. DH and I sailed her in September and loved it so much, we are booked again for March 5th. It's less than two weeks! We can't wait! I agree, the service is really special on this cruise. Marc Walker was our CD and he was great but Drew is our favorite. He is a real nut! I do have one question if you don't mind? How was the menu on the formal night for you? If I remember right, it wasn't anything special. I think the formal menu should be a step up from the other menus but didn't feel that it quite measured up. DH and I are considering skipping the formal night this time and just enjoy a more spontaneous cruise. Would love to know your thoughts.

I am very interested in this too. I would like to pack light for my 4 day visit to Monarch but surely don't want to miss anything.

The food was very good but I totally agree with you on it needing to be a step up!! If we do this cruise again I think we will make reservations somewhere in Nassau instead of eating on the boat!! They definitely didn't care what anyone wore to the MDR! There were several men that came in wearing khaki shorts on formal night!!

There was a time for about a year or so that the 3 night Monarch cruise didnt even have a formal night :) The suggestion was "smart casual" and yes the dress code on that ship is very "relaxed"

Was on the Monarch last November for our "delayed" honeymoon/2 year anniversary. Loved it so much.... we have become cruise people because of this ship! Would love to go on her again some day.
