lovemydogs Posted February 28, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2012 We are booked in a GS on Navigator, sailing March 16th. Just wondering if anyone who has recently sailed on NOS (January to present) and was eligible for concierge services (i.e. suites, D+) received an email from the concierge in advance of your departure? I know this has been the case in the past, but I'm wondering if the current concierge, Karen, is in the habit of doing this. Many thanks! PeterPan Posted February 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2012 In my past experience, sometimes yes, sometimes no. Karen was the concierge last April when we did a back to back on Navigator. I did not receive an email from her prior to departure. When we returned home, I had an email that was sent prior to the second leg of the cruise. Is there something specific you are wanting to request, or know? By the way - Karen was awesome! sharonlacey Posted February 28, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2012 We are leaving the 19th and have not gotten anything yet. I e-mailed him about 3 weeks ago in reference to a cabana he said he will keep my e-mail but would not be addressing our cruise until the cruise before us. The concierge on Navigator is Karen Hernandez, she is awsome. We just left the ship on sunday 2-26. I requsted a cabana about a month out and she told me she would contact me closer to the cruise date. I heard from her about 5 days before embarkation asking which cabana we were interested in. We ended up with W2 which is right on the water, really nice. We were in GS 1548 and had a wonderful time. Have a great cruise.

critterchick Posted February 28, 2012 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2012 Karen contacted us about 5 days before our NYE cruise. The cruise before us was a 6-nighter, so I'm sure she was busy getting those passengers settled in. I had emailed her earlier regarding specialty restaurant reservations and a Coco Cay cabana (we were booted from Labadee because Allure was there) and she did reply to that email as well. The other email was a standard "this is what you have to look forward to and let me know if you need anything" form email. She was terrific on our cruise. We don't usually ask the Concierge for much, but we seemed to need her help with something on a daily basis, and she always delivered with a smile. lovemydogs Posted February 28, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted February 28, 2012 Thanks so much!! You answered my question perfectly :D I had emailed her a couple of weeks ago about reserving a cabana and I got the same response as you, JAYV1. I was just curious if I would actually be hearing back from her at some point. Sounds like Karen is outstanding, so I'm excited to meet her. Again, many thanks, Heather
pinkrosesdeb Posted February 29, 2012 #9 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Karen, was fantastic...we loved her. She was left with a big mess when the prior concierge did nothing she was supposed to before she left the ship and Karen had to come onboard and fix all the stuff that was not done as promised. She has the sweetest attitude and a great personality. Would love to sail with her again.
ginger2000 Posted February 29, 2012 #10 Share Posted February 29, 2012 We were on the Nav Feb 4 sailing. We had a OS (travelling with our kids) and my parents had a GS. My parents got the e-mail from Karen about 1 week before sailing - and we got nothing. Don't know if she just missed us - or because we had kids. Regardless, Karen was wonderful! pinkrosesdeb Posted February 29, 2012 #13 Share Posted February 29, 2012 woogie, prices of cabanas are the same no matter which suite you're in. They started at $150 when we booked and I think go to $200 for the ones over the water.
brush man Posted March 23, 2012 #14 Share Posted March 23, 2012 We were recently in a GS on the Liberty and the Concierge included drinks of any kind as well as great snacks. A year ago we were in the Diamond Lounge on the Navigator and it was only wine and champagne. We are booked for a GS in December on the Navigator and were wondering does it include the same amenities as the Liberty or is it that same as the Diamond Lounge? Thanks
praline3001 Posted March 23, 2012 #15 Share Posted March 23, 2012 I was just on the phone with RC about another matter concerning our cruise. I asked if Concierge would get in contact with me before our cruise dates as I had a question or 2. She said it is not policy for them to do so. Sometimes they will and sometimes they won't but to never count on it. It is not a listed service they provide. I just wanted to point that out for anyone wanting to get in touch with concierge for special request. If there is something really important you need to ask or set up, send them an email to be safe. trolleydolly Posted March 23, 2012 #16 Share Posted March 23, 2012 just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question. We had a GS last year on Voyager and we were contacted from the dining room prior to the cruise asking us if we had any particular requests as to where we would like to be seated for dinner. Is this a normal procedure for suite guests or was it just a 'Voyager' procedure. This year we have a GS on the Indy. Should we expect an e mail from the dining room on the Indy with the same question or maybe should we e mail them first. Thanks

CruiseMor Posted March 24, 2012 #19 Share Posted March 24, 2012 We recently reached Diamond status and will be sailing on the Allure next January. Is there a Diamond Lounge or something similar on the Allure and if so, what non-alcoholic drinks are available? Also can you tell me what else is available (snacks, etc). We will have My Time dining and would like to plan accordingly. Thanks!
