:D Can you swim anytime of the day or night or do they close pools down at a certain time?

They frequently close the pools and some of the hot tubs at night, for cleaning, etc. Usually there is at least one hot tub always open.

They may also close pools for safety reasons if ship is rock & rolling too bad. Would not do to have a passenger go surfing out of the pool and into the deck chairs when the water sloshes out.

The cruise compass will tell you for sure if it's 24 hours, but the cruises I've been on have always had a pool and/or hot tub open.

 

And it's quite fun to have the pool all to yourself during a calm quiet night. :D

There is usually at least one pool open 24/7. At night, they will close one for cleaning/refilling but another will be open. After the first one is cleaned/filled, they will open it and clean/refill the next one. This is generally the norm. Of course there are exceptions under certain circumstances.

My cabin was really HOT one night. We departed Aruba late that evening, and my wife and I forgot to turn the AC on. At about 3 AM I decided it was time for a swim, but I wasn't alone. I didn't get an accurate count, but there had to be a dozen others. I guess it was a good night for a late night/early morning swim.:)

Had a surprise my first time on a cruise on Navigator OTS and had water splash in my mouth from a kid doing what kids do. EWWWW, nasty salt water!:D

The only time I’ve noticed all the pools closed is when there is a midnight party up on the pool deck, they drain them and put a net over them so people do not fall in.

I was on the Freedom in the main pool area at 3AM . It was dead as night! So I had the pool all to myself!:D
