Royal Suite - Millennium - Bottles of Liquor included?

We sail next Thursday on the Millennium. Twice when we sailed in a Royal Suite on the Century we found two bottles of liquor in our cabin (1 scotch and 1 vodka as I recall).

Will that be the case on the Millennium? Is it an unpublished perk at that level of cabin and higher (we did not receive it in a Sky Suite, nor twice in a Celebrity Suite) or is it dependent upon ship/HD ?? Can you request different selections (as in TWO vodka rather than what is typically provided)?

I know that on NCL it is included in the Owner's Suite level and higher.

THANKS!

Tom

We were on Constellation last year in a Celebrity Suite and when we arrived there was a bottle of scotch, a bottle of vodka, several sodas for mixers and a bottle of sparkling wine. From what I have read on cruise critic, it varies from ship to ship.

Historically this has not been a guaranteed perk, but is something that those in larger suites often received. On Millennium last month in the Penthouse I did receive two liters of booze and eight cans of soda. I was able to swap the booze for a liquor of my choice, but only certain non premium brands. I arranged this through the butler. Hopefully you will receive the booze - I'd say you have a good chance, but unless something has changed this is a discretionary (rather than guaranteed) perk and therefore not a sure thing.

I guess we'll know for sure in just a few days!

We'll likely get free drinks in the casino (well, FREE may not be entirely accurate ). Knowing that there is liquor in the room or not plays a direct role in whether or not we bring along a rum runner! ;) We purchased the premium alcohol package on the Eclipse recently, and don't think we consumed enough to cover the cost -- especially factoring in the casino drinks, and 8-10 "free drink" coupons we received (in addition) upon embarkation.

Thanks for the replies.

It would be great if you could report back on your experience and, even better, if you could ask your butler what the present situation is.

What Gonzo has said has always been the situation historically but, on another recent thread, I reported that Celebrity seem to have published different perks: http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1588054 Post #15.

It would be good to have this clarified!

Interesting... so, according to that, there should be ONE bottle that comes with the RS.

Yes, we'll see how this plays out!

Special Amenities for Penthouse & Royal suites include:

  • Separate whirlpool bathtub
  • Whirlpool on private veranda
  • Your choice of one bottle of vodka, scotch or gin with accompanying mixers

This is what is list on the new website under suites. We are in a PH suite in May. Either way, one or two will be more than we've had on RCCL.
