Dock at Cozumel and Ferry over to Cancun

Anyone docked off at Cozumel and decided to go to Cancun by ferry to do something exciting there? If you have, what is there to do in Cancun and where can I get on the ferry to go there. How long will it take from Cozumel to Cancun?

The ferry actually goes from Coz to Playa del Carmen, about a 30+ minute cab ride south of Cancun.

The tourist area of Cancun is one long stretch of hotels -- the beach clubs on Coz are much better and the snorkeling on Coz attracts visitors from the mainland. Good luck! :)

Thanks Johnin DC.

So the best thing to do in Coz is snorkeling?

Great snorkeling in Coz! Try Eagle Ray divers for a great tour or go to the Money Bar for snorkeling from the shore. Besides snorkeling and beach clubs there are some ruins to tour, a tequila factory tour, and other things to see/do -but it is a island, so the focus is on water activities and beaches. Good luck! :)

Just to note. There are ferries from Playa del Carmen to Cancun. Not as frequent as between Playa and Coz. Thus it is better to taxi, as John says. Some cruisers do try to hit Xcaret or Xel-HA water/entertainment parks. But rarely have enough time to fully enjoy everything. IMHO, going to any venue on the mainland from Coz while on a cruise is NOT a relaxing day. Playa does has shops, but similar to downtown San Miguel on Coz. Playa does have great restaurants, but better experienced at night for dinners. South of Playa are great beaches around various resorts, but again, you need to always be cogizant of the time to catch the ferry, versus just grabbing a 10 minute cab ride on Coz.

I would far rather spend my time in Cozumel than Cancun. There are even some Mayan ruins on cozumel if that is of interest. snorkelling there was wonderful when we were there:)
