OldSeaDog Posted April 3, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2012 You cannot buy future cruise credits. Other than that, everything I've tried, I've been successful paying for with my Mil/Shareholder/FCC OBC.

gb1466 Posted April 3, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted April 3, 2012 I thought the $11.00 gratuity could not come off this OBC.
Mindy43 Posted April 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Anything that you put onto your shipboard account counts toward your military and shareholder credits (yes even the casiono and bingo!).
Astro Flyer Posted April 3, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Any type of OBC is a credit against the debits in your onboard account.

However, in practice the OBC is debited every time a charge is assessed to your account, regardless of what it's for. So gratuities are routinely paid with the OBC, just as the others have stated.

Work that one out.
Pam in CA Posted April 3, 2012 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Your onboard account is a simple credit/debit system. If you have an OBC of any kind, your folio starts as a plus (credit.) Everything that's charged to your folio, whether it's the hotel service charge, a soda, a tour or a specialty restaurant, is then deducted from the credit until you reach a $0 balance. Then, you start accruing a balance to be charged to your card. On my recent Star cruise, I had about $45 left in my folio from my OBC at the end of the cruise. It was credited to my credit card. wrahn2002 Posted April 3, 2012 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2012 If I have not used all my on-board credit by the end of the cruise, is it saved on my Princess Circle account or do I lose it? Wes

I thought if you dont use up all your OBC, you would lose it, unless the OBC is from some sort of compensation from prior cruise. Did I remember it wrong or Princess now changes its policy so any leftover OBC would be returned to the registered CC?

It will get charged to your account and you will pay 3%, but that's a small price to pay for free $$$. Either that, or out of the slots. Have someone teach you. You can cash out this account whenever you want if you dont lose it all in the casino lol

However, the onboard accounting systems do not care what the source of OBC is and all charges or all types to your account come off the OBC until the OBC is all used up.
