debintexas Posted April 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2012 We booked Princess air & there's a very short time from landing in Amsterdam until the flight to Copenhagen. Will we have to go through customs in either city or they both part of Schengen? Thanks in advance--so much helpful information on this site! TylerRose Posted April 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2012 Hi Deb, I have no answers for you--- but we need to book airfare this week and I would also like to know  Robyn
Starry Eyes Posted April 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2012 I have not flown your itinerary, but IIRC last time we flew to Europe we did an immigration check after our first leg. If you do not get a more confident answer here, you may want to post on the cruise air forum...there are many more experienced flyers there. Danish viking Posted April 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2012 Immigration will most likely be in Amsterdam because both Holland and Denmark are Schengen countries.

Ine Posted April 11, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 11, 2012 Denmark is indeed also a Schengen country. Which means you will go through passportcontrol in Amsterdam (since this is your 1st stop in a Schengencountry), but customs will be done in Copenhagen. Often there will be a special section at Amsterdam Airport for passengers with shortconnections. Your luggage will be labeled all the way to Copenhagen and you donot need to take care of that in Amsterdam.
JKT5001 Posted April 12, 2012 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2012 We always go through passport control in Amsterdam when we connect. Fortunately, there was a short connections line (which I don't know why every airport doesn't have) and it went very quickly. Security in Amsterdam is at the gate. CooksCruiser14 Posted April 12, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 12, 2012 Hi, We also have a short 1 hour 40 minute connection in AMS in late June. Our Itinerary is ATL-AMS-CPH on Delta / KLM. This information has been helpful and a bit reassuring. I have heard it is a very long walk from the International terminal to the connecting flight. Luckily there are several later flights to CPH in case we do miss our connection. Glad to hear that there is a short connections line at passport control. In the past we experienced a missed connection at CDG which was not a pleasant experience so this time we are routed through AMS hoping for better luck. Will be interested in others experiences connecting through AMS.
