chickadee1 Posted April 15, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2012 Yes! And you want to see how close you are to the bridge decks! Goes really fast, though!
NYGirl1002 Posted April 15, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2012 I'm usually crossing that bridge on my way home from work as the ships go by so make sure you wave to me as you go by.

Langley Cruisers Posted April 15, 2012 #10 Share Posted April 15, 2012 I recommend not being inside, but being up on deck! Have one person taking still photos and one person taping it! It's insane!!!!!!!!
chickadee1 Posted April 15, 2012 #11 Share Posted April 15, 2012 Luckily that area is not subject to tides!
msw1023 Posted April 15, 2012 #12 Share Posted April 15, 2012 I agree, don't be inside, be forward on deck 12. I believe you can go on top of the sky bar. In sail away, it's packed. I actually took my pics returning. There were only a few brave souls up and about then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Clio1610 Posted April 15, 2012 #13 Share Posted April 15, 2012 Hi we are laving on the Explorer of the Seas out of NJ.. Will we travel under the Verazanno Bridge?? And if any of your friends & family want to watch you sail out of NY and under the Bridge - then just tell them to watch on www.nyharborwebcam.com - These guys are fantastic and record all the ship sailaways on their wonderful HD quality webcams and then put them on their archive site www.portfever.com for you to view ! If you contact them and tell them where you will be standing for your Sailaway, they may even be able to zoom in on you if you are on the Starboard side of the ship !!! Contact them on their websites for further info !!!
Langley Cruisers Posted April 15, 2012 #14 Share Posted April 15, 2012 I agree, don't be inside, be forward on deck 12... Yep. You need to be outside to hear the cars honking on the bridge and to hear the reaction of the passengers as you pass under the bridge! Bundle up if it's cold, but be outside! :D
