hotel in miami?

You might want to consider doing this on your own. Taxi from airport is around $20. And very easy. There are a number of hotels between there and the port.

If you go over to the PORTS OF CALL boards you will find lots of talk about different hotels that folks go to.

Hi all

we have transfers booked with celebrity and wondered if anyone knew if there was one hotel in particular celebrity used in Miami for overnite pre cruise

Thanks

We always stay downtown across from the Bayside Marketplace. Will be at the Intercontinental Miami in 2 weeks. Great location.

I agree about not using their transfers and/or hotel. You will leave the hotel late (unless you like to board later in the day) and you will be with MANY others. I felt like I was in a herd of wild animals and decided to take a cab instead. We arrived at the port WAY before they did and it wasn't with a huge group which made check-in much better. We have stayed across from Bayside Marketplace at the Holiday Inn. They usually book up fast though. You can also see the ships in port if you are on one of the higher floors (7/8). You will save yourself money and aggrevation if you book on your own. Good luck!!

I have 2 suggestions: embassy suite hotel at the airport of Miami. There you can book a transfer to thee port for US 10 pp or Holliday Inn Port of Miami, a taxi to the Port of Miami will cost around US 10 in total.

This is a suggestion for doing it on your own.

We are checking in there on Thursday for our Saturday TA--got it on priceline for what I considered to be a good price. Is it a nice place? Anything I need to know? Are there restaurants that are walkable nearby? Do you have an idea of how much to expect the cab ride to be to the port?

Any info appreciated--or we will just figure it out when we get there!!:)

The IC is about 1/4 mile (easy walk along the bay front) from the Bayside Market place w/ shops, bars and restaurants. Latin Cafe, Lombardi's (It's Italian but has GREAT grouper).... a bunch of places to eat. The Other Daiquiri bar etc for frozen drinks. The hotel, like pretty much all Intercontinentals, is quite nice. Last time I stayed there (about 4 months ago) I got it on lastminutetravel for $104. I was thrilled.

We have stayed at both the JW and Hyatt downtown. We have had Good luck with both on priceline. My fav is JW. Short cheap cab ride to port and lots of food options. They are also an easy cab ride to South Beach or Bayside Market Place.
