Are bugs a worry on Montreal-to-Boston itineraries???

Recommended Posts

This question is from my wife: Does she need to prepare for biting bugs when cruising Atlantic Canada and Bar Harbor Maine?

It depends on the time of year and where you will be heading when onshore. On the ship there should be no problems. May/June are usually the worst times for blackflies, with mosquitos lasting until august or later. But those bugs are much heavier inland.....near the coast they are not as much of an issue. If you plan to stick to he coast, bar harbor and the like, you should have little to worry about. The seabreeze keeps them off for the most part.
