Drink package prices, rebates?

As the drink packages are pricy for the amounts my gf and I consume, I am hoping for some kind of deals for our upcoming cruise. Any rumours on discounts coming up? :)

The only way I could make good of the packages would be me staying onboard 24/7 and sipping drinks all day long. Sadly, I don't think I'd remember much of the cruise itself after that? :)

It depends which package you get. If you get the primum alcohol package I hope you drink martinis if not and all you drinks that you have are $8.00 and below get the classic.

As for the non-alcoholic packages it depends on what you like for water. The up scale water and cans of pop are in the primum non-alcoholic package. If all you drink are latte and non-alcoholic drinks get the cheap one.

I plan to have some martinis so I need the preimum package for now the second half I may change to the cheaper one if I find I don't like martinis.

The Classic worked great for my husband and I... we'd start the day out with fresh squeezed OJ or grapefruit juice (in the cafe they charge for this), coffee from the coffee shop (2 each), then bottled water for the cabin and off the ship (4+ a day each), diet soda for me and a beer for him with lunch, afternoon drinks/sodas by the pool or in the casino, glass or two of wine with dinner, an after dinner drink at the show... it was definitely worth it for us. Once we added up the NON-alcoholic drinks we knew we'd enjoy in addition to our adult beverages, it just made sense to get the classic package. It was nice, too, to not be concerned about the cost adding up with each purchase... it was already spent!

Oh, and we bought the packages the morning of Day 2. We knew that embarkation day would be a "waste".

Drink packages are not required and most people do not order them; you can purchase drinks a la carte. Unless you are a heavy drinker then a drink package will not be a prudent choice. Celebrity once had a 10% off promotion for the packages, but as this has only occurred one time I would not count on another sale before your cruise.

On our cruises, I haven't seen any discounts/rebates on drink packages, or seen any posts about one, so I'd not plan on it. Since the card is for a many (or as few) drinks as the person would consume, there can't be any 'low-consumer' cards.

As mentioned, there are happy hrs, and drinks of the day which are discounted a bit. I don't get drink cards because I also don't drink enough to use one.....although I love to post and joke about my huge consumption!

The only semi-related cards I've seen was on Princess with the Coffee cards where they gave you a punchcard for, I think 20 coffees, at a discount. Loved it, and could share with my wife since it was for a specified number instead of open-ended as normal drink cards are

Oh Nooooo I mentioned sharing....please don't respond with how do you 'share' a single drink card, or is it OK for my mate to 'sip' a few of my drinks!!

Post 7 has a link to a nifty spreadsheet that lets you estimate you drink consumption and judge the likelihood that the packages will make sense for you.

Post one has the drinks and prices (as current as we seem to have at the moment) so you will know what to expect.

You can upgrade but you can't downgrade. There is a 10% discount until 6/15 I think.
