Will the cab driver take U.S. money for a fare from the airport to a hotel?

Also is the Marche open on Sundays, our cruise leaves Sunday night/early Monday morning?

According to my "Hidden Tahiti" book, the best time to go to the Marche is early Sunday morning. He doesn't actually say how late it's open, but since I know it closes at noon on Saturday, I'm betting until 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Upstairs is where the tourists arts and crafts are sold, downstairs is fresh produce, etc.

And remember, haggling is considered rude by Polynesians.

We went to the Marche on Sunday morning. The up-stairs was closed, and the bottom was mostly fish and produce for the locals. There were flower arrangements and some tourist stuff at the back end of the market for sale on Sunday. We also paid US money for our cab from the airport.

Our cab drivers took $US but another visitor told me his driver wouldn't. If it costs 2000xpf sometimes they will accept US$20 which is better for you and sometimes they will charge a few bucks more.
