kwagmyre Posted May 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2012 I am intending to enjoy a good cigar or two on the balcony. Does Carnival supply the ashtrays, or is this something I need to bring myself?

Just ask for one from your room steward and he will bring one for you. I always bring on with me though...:)
rtw68 Posted May 29, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2012 Our son and nephew both smoke and our room steward brought us an ashtry, no problem! :)
crusinpsychRN Posted May 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2012 You can also get one from Lido. I take a "smokeless" ashtray. It sucks the smoke away.
RWolver672 Posted May 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2012 Please ask for an ashtray. Even though I'm a smoker, nothing grosses me out more that seeing a wine glass sitting outside a room where they have half filled it and used it as an ashtray. beachbum53 Posted May 29, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 29, 2012 You can also get one from Lido. I take a "smokeless" ashtray. It sucks the smoke away. How well does that work for you? When I'm on my balcony, and the ship is moving, the wind sucks the smoke (and ashes) out to sea faster than any "smokeless" ash tray would. I suppose there might be some benefit to it when the ship is docked.
serene56 Posted May 29, 2012 #7 Share Posted May 29, 2012 Take your own- stewards are busy this first day and you may not see him until later in the day. leave a note on the bed or mirror that you want an ashtray
suzinva Posted May 29, 2012 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2012 We take one with us, one that has a lid so the ashes and butts don't blow all over. Ours even has a light in the lid that lights up when you open it wooooooooooooooo lol
cuyahoga11 Posted May 29, 2012 #9 Share Posted May 29, 2012 I take a little butt bucket and a coffee can to put the used butts. Dont want them blowing in the wind or making a mess for the steward to clean up.
Cigar Dude Posted May 29, 2012 #10 Share Posted May 29, 2012 You can also get one at the lido bar...if the room steward is not able to be found.
FlaGrl4Evr Posted May 29, 2012 #11 Share Posted May 29, 2012 I am intending to enjoy a good cigar or two on the balcony. Does Carnival supply the ashtrays, or is this something I need to bring myself? For the balcony, my husband uses a butt-can. It is a can with an ashtry lid that has a small hole in the middle for the butts to flow down into the can. The balcony can get windy, and this way nothing blows around, plus easy clean-up. The lid also has a glow-in-the-dark rim so it glows at night. He also brings a few sandwich sized zippy bags to empty the butts into so the cabin steward does not have to deal with his mess. We buy a brand new Butt-can before leaving on our cruises and then just throw it away on debark day. It is only $2 in the auto supply asile at Dollar General or a few dollars higher at Walmart major auto supply stores. :):)
jwolf24601 Posted May 29, 2012 #12 Share Posted May 29, 2012 I was planning on using a glass half filled with water. I was concerned the wind would blow ashes around, is this not the case?
MikeM Posted May 29, 2012 #13 Share Posted May 29, 2012 Room Steward will bring you a ash tray that traps the ash and the hot stuff. They want you to use those opposed to your own and the ones from the ship bars.
Beachlover76 Posted May 29, 2012 #14 Share Posted May 29, 2012 I usually bring a throw away can..fill it with sand, and then another coffee can with a lid for the old butts.
