McKinley Village Lodge

It is a beautiful lodge, and if the mountain is out, an amazing view. It is a one hour bus ride into Talkeetna, a little town with great ice cream and lots of authentic alaskan artists. There are also a few tourist trap kinds of shops. The food was very good, quite a bit better than at the Princess lodges in Fairbanks or Denali. Spend some time with the rangers from the State Park, they are very knowledgable and friendly.

You're thinking of the McKinley Princess Lodge. McKinley Village Lodge is about six miles south of the entrance to Denali National Park. It's ok but you have to take a shuttle to get to the park visitor center and many activities around "glitter gulch". Not many dining choices either.

Any comments on McKinley Village Lodge in Denali? We're staying there as part of our pre-cruise land tour with RCCL in July.

McKinley Lodge is not in Denali and is about an hour and half bus ride to Denali. There are only 3 dining choices. We loved it here and Mt. McKinley was visible all 3 days. We also saw the northern lights one night.

McKinley VILLAGE Lodge certainly is near Denali. The PRINCESS McKinley Lodge is 1 hour from Talkeetna, and is 2++ hours to the Princess Denali Lodge.
