java123 Posted June 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2012 How low are the caves? Would somebody who has issues with small spaces be able to do the cave tubing and not find it to overwhelming?
Rare crewsweeper Posted June 5, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2012 They're low but not that low. You are sitting/"lounging" down. Narrow passages are still wide enough for 2 trains of rafts to travel side by side. You are moving not standing still, you can see light at the end of the tunnel and have a light on your helmet. I don't think you'll feel too closed in.
Rare mitsugirly Posted June 5, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2012 Agree with the previous poster. You can see the light in different areas and at the end of the tunnel. The area is pretty wide and not really closed in (as in narrow and small). There are several areas you come to along the way that have open areas on the sides too. smarks Posted August 7, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2012 I am very claustrophobic. I did this tour because my husband had his heart set on it. I really didn't want to go but I went for him. I shut my eyes to start with but just a few minutes into the cave I opened them and saw that it was going to be ok. We had a blast. I'm glad I went and so was my husband. Some of those places in the caves you could have driven a bus into. I know that sometimes the darkness can affect your feeling of being closed in. You will have a light on your head and so will everybody else so it will be fine in that aspect of it. I think you will be fine. Good luck on whatever decision you make.
