OBC for gratuities?

I traded in my Royal Rewards VISA points for on board credit. Can I use this OBC to pay for gratuities? The information on the RCCL website only mentions shops, restaurants, bars- no mention of using the VISA OBC for gratuities.

Yes, you can use OBC for gratuities, but not if you pre-pay. Wait until you get on board and then you can arrange to pay gratuties out of your SeaPass account.

That pretty much goes for anything that you want to use OBC for during the cruise. You can't purchase ahead of time. Once you are aboard the ship and your seapass account is active you can use your OBC for pretty much any on board expense that you want such as gratuities, excursions, specialty dining, drink packages, etc.
