Thecat123 Posted July 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2012 We have booked Radiance of the Seas earl Feb and are wondering what we will notice is different? We have sailed Holland America Maasdam and Veendam, MSC Musica and Fantasia, Coral Princess. We also sailed AWA Amabella on a European River cruise of which one can not compare to ocean sailing so what other differences should we find? We are early 60's Been happy with all the ships we have been on so far. Somethings a little better than others but overall very happy so far
Ashland Posted July 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2012 RCI's Radiance is an amazing ship especially with the new enhancements...She is a favorite of many cruisers on these boards and no doubt will become one of yours too...Enjoy :D
we like it hot Posted July 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2012 Just got off the Radiance. It is ourt favorite ship. Very clean and updated. The crew was amazing. We love the solarium and the bigger dance floors. The Windjammer flows well and the food as very good.
skandls Posted July 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2012 The basic cabins on HAL are larger - the cabins on Princess seem smaller. The Radiance is not a 'promenade' ship but an older style cruise ship. It does not have the bling factor of the new ships but it has beautiful decor. We like the entertainment and specialty dining on the Royal ships.
tnt10 Posted July 8, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2012 While the Radiance is not one of the bigger, "bling" filled ships, it does have a wonderful ambiance, with the emphasis on the sea. This is why we prefer this class to all the other RCCL ships. If you are searching for a lot of on-board activities that distract from the fact that you are on a ship at sea, then you may be disappointed. Otherwise, you should have a memorable experience on RCCl. Enjoy!! tnt10

wildweston Posted July 8, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 8, 2012 Hi Cheryl - I see you have been on Diamond Princess and Radiance - would be interested to know how they compare and which you preferred? Hi, gosh you have me thinking here, both are beautiful ships with the Diamond being a bit bigger. I think Diamond has maybe more choices in where to eat both ships are light and airy and really to tell the truth it is really hard to say which one I preferred, both have equally good points. One thing I can tell you is that you won't be disappointed with your Radiance cruise. :)
Thecat123 Posted July 8, 2012 Author #9 Share Posted July 8, 2012 . Otherwise, you should have a memorable experience on RCCl.Enjoy!! tnt10 After having a two week cruise on the Amabello, about 140 passengers, with basically no onboard activities at the evenings going along the Danube it will be a change to go back to the ocean cruising again with the theatres, different places to eat, casinos etc and a few thousand passengers. The cabins were also a lot smaller than on the larger ships but everything fitted and we got on fine So basically we will not find much difference between RCl, Holland America and Princess? I will leave out MSC as they are "different" :)
