caribill Posted July 11, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2012 Welcome to Cruise Critic. There is a very active Cruise Critic roll call for your cruise at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1381767 I suggest you join the roll call and see if any private excursions arranged by the roll call members still have space available. This is true for the port you asked about and the other ports on the itinerary. I do not know how experienced a cruiser you are and if you have cruised on Princess before. If this is one of your first cruises, I suggest joining any already planned independent excursions that interest you on your roll call if space is available. Otherwise, I would select Princess excursions even though they may be a little pricey.

Greenoak is a small town with not too much to see although there are a number of "free" tours put on by the locals from there. To get to Glasgow, the least expensive is via the train station, a 15-20 minute walk from the port, just past the "shopping mall" and up a small hill. AmoMondo Posted July 12, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 12, 2012 If you want tomsee castles you are not going ton see them in Glssgow you are going to have to go on a tour (independent or Princess) or hire a car. Glasgow is a city, so you'll have no shortage of restaurants and shops there. It also has some great architecture, museums and galleries.
