Dee Dee - been trying to catch up with you - I've decided to take our granddaughter on the Baltics cruise next year and would like to 'pick your brain' - would you send me an email? Thanks, Sharon

Yes, send me an e-mail!

Roothy, if you're "boring" then we're reeaaallly boring! On our last cruise, we didn't use up all of our opportunities at Toscana, went in the hot tug 2x, pool never, ignored the casino (husband is an engineer so he knows the odds) and dined all but a few of our meals at the Terrace.

We did dine with the Captain some so we did eat in the GDR and our service was extraordinary and the wine selections absolutely lovely. We had tried GDR on other cruises but found that we just enjoy dining outside. Just think, we are allowing others to have "our" seats in the GDR!! (I think we get the better deal!)

As for enjoying the company of my dining companion, we've been married a really long time, are early retirees, and love traveling with each other. We eat with each other almost every meal. I'm pretty sure going for a little something more/different at the Terrace (and usually bringing him back something) is not going to disrupt our bliss and besides, when I leave and then come back my glass/cup has always been refilled! We're very independent travelers and that extends to meal times as well.

If dining as we do on Terrace is "foraging" can I sign up for foraging for the rest of my life?

It is a personal choice as i said

We have been married a very long time (to me anyway) & retired for 9 yrs

We eat together all the time ;)

He is capable of getting his own food from the buffet I may bring him a dessert if I am going that way :D

We like to meet other people during mealtime ....a different conversation is nice than the same old stuff we talk about LOL

..we will usually have breakfast alone I am not a morning person

So do not like to have search for a table in the morning then have to search out my food YMMV

I am glad people enjoy the buffet experience it leaves more room in the GDR & it is quieter:D

Not saying it is bad ,,,it is just not for me all the time

Enjoy the foraging;)

Don't worry; most people don't wear shorts there, even in the Caribbean! My husband is ultra casual but even HE wears khakis or jeans plus a nice golf shirt. We're not talking Carnival here, after all! Of course, if shorts and dress shoes aren't your thing, there's always room service!

Let's not get the wrong idea here, on our Tahiti/Hawaii cruise many, many diners in the Terrace Grill in the evening wore shorts. I think the Carnival comparison is completely off base. I would say the majority on our cruise were in shorts out there. Perhaps it depends on your itinerary. There are nice shorts that are in no way tacky.

No need to wear dress shoes either, deck shoes are fine there.
