Transportation to Hong Kong from port??

We are looking at alternative tour options while docked in HK. Does anyone know the best way to get to the city center with some of the major hotels where some of the combined walking and van tours groups meet? I am looking at a tour that begins picking up at central hotels at 9:15 AM and we dock at 7AM. This will be a Saturday morning.

 

Any idea of taxi time to travel and rates?

You need to give us a bit more info before anyone can give you an intelligent answer.

 

There are several piers that cruise ships use in Hong Kong.

Some are located at the tip of Kowloon - right in the center of Hong Kong.

Others are located outside the city, requiring transfers.

I think I'm right in saying that if you are docked at the container terminal no taxis are allowed on site and so you will have to rely on the ship's shuttle. If you are docked in the city centre, then you literally walk off the ship into a shopping mall in Kowloon.

It depends on where you are docked. We were docked at the foot of Nathan Road in Kowloon. It was about a 200 yard walk to the Star Ferry which took us to Central

It also depends on what you consider central.

 

If you are docked at the Ocean Terminal there are lots of places right there including hotels. Other consider the area a lot further away to be central.

 

Need to know where you will be docked and where you want to go.
