Sky MDR Question

No, the menus are the same in both MDRs.

Aren't there slight differences between the two MDRs on the "every day" side of the menu (the side that remains unchanged) as is the case on other NCL ships (Or has NCL eliminated these differences recently)?

When we were on last March, I don't remember any differences in the menus but I may not have been looking that closely. We did notice that there was a bit of a difference in the service between the two dining rooms - one was faster and more polished than the other. One was also more formal than the other, no shorts allowed, but this might have changed recently. The Freestyle Daily will let you know if there is a difference in dress code.

You are correct. There are differences in the menus.

This change was implemented with the roll out of the latest round of menus.

The left hand page of the menu changes each day and is the SAME in both MDRs.

The right hand page of the menu never changes. The right hand page is the "always available" portion of the menu and is different for each MDR.

This is the page for the Mid-Ship MDR:

This is the page for the Aft MDR:

Well I'm thoroughly confused :p. SeaShark, are the pages you posted the right hand page that is always available (I'm doubting this just because of the number of selections offered) or the left hand side? I just want to clarify that the left hand side changes daily, but will be the same for both restaurants, while the right hand side which stays the same throughout the whole cruise is different for each restaurant. Is that correct?

Both photo pages posted above are the always available items - one is for the midship main dining room while the other is for the aft one. They are very similar but if you look close, you will see a little subtle difference in the way the items are prepared, i.e. apps.

You got it. What I posted is the right side page of the menu which never changes and is different for each MDR.

Can you order something you know the other dinning room has? For example one offers cream of broccoli soup, can I order that from the other dinning room where they do not list it on their menu.

As long as the item is on the page that is the same in both dining rooms, you can order it in either place. If you want something that is only offered in a specific restaurant, you simply go to that restaurant...just like you do at home.
