Is there a main theater show or live music? I read on a website:

 

 

"your cruise ship's casinos, entertainment options, retail shops, will be closed, not open, by law in Bermuda. Bermuda is the only cruise destination in the world where this applies. Only if the entertainment is provided by Bermudians is an exception made."

 

Our upcoming cruise will be docked at Kings Wharf for three days. If there is no live show or live music while in port, I can only imagine a very dead atmosphere onboard.

The casino and shops will be closed while the ship is in port, but the rules on entertainment were changed years ago...the information on the web site you read is out of date. The ship will have a variety of entertainment while in port. Restaurants, bars, show rooms, discos, etc. will be open for business.

I haven't been anywhere, where casinos and shops were open while the ship was in port, regardless of which line. Pretty much everywhere else, the ship sails in the evening and you're at sea for the night, so it's hard to compare the stay (for 3 days) in Bermuda with a stay (for 8 hrs) other places. As the ship is docked overnight and you can get off/on at will, you can find many, many forms of entertainment on Bermuda (other than a casino). There will be some music for dancing, the disco will open later on, and there will be some entertainment, they won't have grand shows in the main lounge while in Bermuda, but.....you don't HAVE TO stay on the ship, either.

I'm not sure which cruise lines you've sailed to Bermuda, but some provide more entertainment than others. NCL will have entertainment in its main show room while the ship is in port.

Yes, there always is some sort of entertainment every evening, but while the ship is in Bermuda it will not be as extravagant as it is when the ship is at sea. A least this has been our experience on various lines to Bermuda including NCL.

actually I have been on NCL ships with the casino opened in Barbadoes at least. They do do shows in bermuda but the casino and store is closed. It may only be the comedian or other non show show but it is a entertainment.

Had full productions shows on Celebrity, NCL and possibly RCCL.:)

Bermuda orders the casinos closed while in port and limits outside amplified music after a certain time (midnight, I think). But the cruise lines can do anything they want inside the ship.
