Infrequentcruisers Posted August 2, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2012 Can you still get a OBC by owning stock in Carnival Corp.? If so, how many shares to you need to own and what is the procedure for obtaining the OBC? We will be on the Ryndam sailing out of Barcelona, Spain Oct 26th, and debarking in Ft. Lauderdale Nov 10th. We have sailed with HAL before and always sailed on the Vista class ships, so a smaller vessel will be new to us, how do they compare? Thanks for any info. Infrequent Cruisers :) :p Some people prefer the smaller ships and some do not. They are much more persaonable then the larger ships. I have cruised on both, and use to love the smaller ships but now that I've been cruising on the larger ones, I like them better. I think because they are newer and more modern. I will say when your traveling on Hal nome of their ships are very big.
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 2, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2012 Our TA takes care of showing HAL that we own the stock -- you need a proof of purchase from your stock broker or whomever you bought the stock through. That shipboard credit can be combined with any other shipboard credit that you get. The Ryndam is an S class ship which is quite different than the Vista class ships. Less passengers. We have sailed on her quite a bit -- and she is a lovely ship.
passthru Posted August 2, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2012 We have obtained the Shareholder Benefit for our Zuiderdam cruise in October as we always do on any Carnival owned ship. A copy of the trade confirmation or the page from your account statement and proof of your booking is all that is necessary. I email them to worldcruisereservations@hollandamerica.com for HAL ships. Rare 3rdGenCunarder Posted August 3, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2012 I usually copy a page from my broker statement, black out any info that isn't any of HAL's business, scan that, and email it to the cruise line. Carnival's info on the benefit is on a pdf, so I can't post a link to it. But go to this page and click on shareholder benefit, and you'll get the pdf. It shows the amounts (based on lenght of cruise, not amount of stock) and where you should send your proof of ownership. http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=140690&p=irol-sharebenefit
Infrequentcruisers Posted August 3, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks to everyone for the information regarding OBC if you own Carnival Corp. stock. Went to the Carnival website and got the necessary info. Now, why didn't I think of doing that, I asked myself? Dunno, old age I guess, I answered.
