dazza74 Posted May 10, 2013 #5957 Share Posted May 10, 2013 I was actually referring to not only spa reviews but to the ship in general. Definitely NOT thrilled about what I hear regarding smoke smell, not only in the casino itself (which is a given) but the fact that evidently it can be smelled throughout the atrium area. I think I also came across complaints of smoking in the Waterfront area. I did not think this was allowed, and even if it is I am really angered that smokers would have the balls to light up in that area. So, if true, then that cancels out the 2 main public areas for us as far as walking or otherwise hanging out. Great. Hi there. I hate smoke and jut did the TA and can advise that things were not that bad. I didn't even notice it in the casino or the atrium. The only two times I did was on the waterfront when two different people lit up and the wind blew the smoke in my direction. I just moved to the other side of them to be out of the wind and all was fine. The smokers sure didn't care that the smoke was blowing in my face but I'm use to that attitude and just move now. The waterfront bars are gonna attract smokers and we have to accept that. Some did move away from the bar to smoke whilst others did not. No big deal. Casino Comp Chick Posted May 10, 2013 #5958 Share Posted May 10, 2013 someone developed decides to light up near me, I will sure as hell complain to the waitstaff AND the smoker. Just because the rules say you can doesn't mean you can't do Actually that is exactly what it means & good luck with complaining to the smoker, just be glad I am not on your sailing cause if you complain to me I will give it to you with both barrels and then I would report you for harassment. You DON'T make the rules, NCL does (& yes we all know YOU break them when its convenient for you so go tell it to someone else)

GMCOLT Posted May 10, 2013 #5960 Share Posted May 10, 2013 Thank for the positive feedback on the model. The NCL models typically I do not sell. In the past I have given them to some hard working folks at NCL. My work is on the POA and Gem.
shaun07 Posted May 10, 2013 #5961 Share Posted May 10, 2013 I think we all need to take it down a notch regarding the smoking. I think non smokers should be less sensitive about people smoking and just because they can smell it they should just let it be. Smokers should be more aware of where and when its appropriate to smoke and that just because Ncl allows it in an area doesn't always mean you should just light up. I think the staff would get a lounge chair if it was requested but I don't think smoking and taking a lounge chair are in same category as I could see how smoking can bother other people but not so much taking a lounge chair, except if everyone took one but with the size of most of the balconies I don't foresee that being an issue :p. We all do stuff that can annoy others so everyone needs to be little less self righteous and a little more considerate of others.

Paraveina Posted May 10, 2013 #5964 Share Posted May 10, 2013 Ok, I have an honest question - doesn't smoking ruin your sense of taste? If so, why would a smoker even want to light up before or during their meal?
OnTheGoMom921 Posted May 10, 2013 #5965 Share Posted May 10, 2013 6:15 am this morning on local CBS NY news, they were covering the Freedom Tower Spire story and had a beautiful panoramic sunrise shot from the news helicopter. Framed right in the center of the picture in the water, was a beautiful, picture-perfect frame of the Breakaway sailing back into port. It was a glorious shot. I wished I could have done a "screen capture" from my TV! Those lucky enough to board her today are in for a sunny and beautiful 80 degree day! Enjoy!!! tiffygirl Posted May 10, 2013 #5966 Share Posted May 10, 2013 smoking...well...this convo has gotten heated , i need to pull out the popcorn..:D but seriously ...i won’t talk about the smokers as I would by hypocritical if I did...seeing that i am going to be killing my liver (alcohol UBP)...taking myself one step closer to diabetes (cannoli’s, gelato's, lobster tails, soft serve ice cream), and a hot dog or 2, 3 or 4, 7 days of at least 3 highly salted, highly caloric meals per day from high blood pressure. the way i look at it is I’m doing more damage to myself on this cruise than that second hand smoke smell could ever affect me... so who the hell am i to point finger at the smoker about their second hand smoke affecting me... when my own temple is unclean (self-destruct)...I’m just saying...thankfully its only one week!:D ...side note...my daily work out at the gym will cancel all that other stuff out.;) So to the smoker...DO YOU! If i don’t like the smell or gets to overwhelming..i will just move out of the way...that ship is big enough for us to share.

From an ex-smoker, it's an addiction. Not an easy one to break. To me, smoke is just smoke. There are far more worse things that you can come in contact with in this world. BTW - check out the two big cannons rising into the air on Roosevelt Island billowing black smoke. I wonder what those are doing to my lungs each morning when I wake up to find black dust on my windowsill in Astoria?

You DON'T make the rules, NCL does (& yes we all know YOU break them when its convenient for you so go tell it to someone else) My fiance has debilitating asthma and has TWICE in the past two months ended up at the hospital because of inconsiderate smokers exercising their "rights" to smoke, regardless of who they're affecting. So please do continue to enjoy your God given right to damage the health of my fiancé and others around you when you smoke upwind of them, because as we know in this world, your rights to blow carcinogens is far more important than the comfort and health of those around you. We won't say anything to you about it if we are on the same sailing, because we'll be interrupting our sacred vacation time to run for inhalers and prednisone, in the hopes that we'll be able to avoid a shipboard hospital stay. And we won't be saying anything to you later that day either, because the debilitating headaches that follow smoke-induced asthma attacks will have us canceling our evening dinner and entertainment plans so that my fiancé can lay in bed, trying to get the head to stop pounding, as happened 3 out of the 7 nights on a recent cruise when we had a lovely smoking couple next door to us who enjoyed their rights to smoke on their balcony. Im confused:confused:....soooooooooooo why risk her health and well being, and your vacation dollars while being sick and miserable, when you have the OPTION to go on a NON SMOKING cruise line like celebrity?? Knowingly you chose her fate by going on a smoking optional cruise line. soooooo how is that the smokers responsiblity to be mindful of YOUR fiancé medical conditon... just curious.
