cleophus12 Posted August 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2012 We have been to St Thomas several times on cruises and once for a week-long stay. So we have done many of the beaches, snorkeling, and scenic points. Anyone got any suggestions for something different we can do on our upcoming trip? We would love to find snorkel spot we haven't been to (we've done Coki, Secret Harbor, Meagan's Bay, and Sapphire Beach, and we've been to St John). We are not crazy about doing shore excursions through the ship, but if anyone has any good recommendations, we are not entirely averse to ship excursions. Or if anyone has any good suggestions on a boat tour, that would also be appreciated. Thanks for any help you can offer.
Ms411 Posted August 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2012 If you do a day sail they'll take you to snorkeling spots that aren't easily accessible on land. Another suggestion would be Hull Bay.
blue_water Posted August 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2012 The one spot you haven't visited from STT is the BVI. Pirates Penny has a great excursion to Virgin Gorda and Josts, or you can ferry from Red Hook to Josts.
mom22tinks Posted September 25, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2012 Cleopus.... We love to snorkel too. I am wondering out of all the bea he's you mentioned which one was your favorite and why? Thanks! Jessica
blue_water Posted September 25, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 25, 2012 There are some excellent day sails out of Sapphire Marina and Red Hook that do snorkel stops on STJ. But as I mentioned earlier a day trip to the Baths on VG is available and that is a very unique experience as the Baths are beautiful. If you're not planning to go to the BVI in the near future consider that for this stop on STT, you will also have a snorkel stop and some time in White Bay on Josts. Can't beat that for a day in STT port!

cleophus12 Posted October 12, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted October 12, 2012 Sorry for the late reply, and you probably don't need the answer by now, but our favorite beach was probably Secret Harbor because we stayed there for the week and were able to really enjoy the snorkeling and the beach--especially the hammock between the trees. We also loved Coki beach. Different vibe entirely but lots of fish and great snorkeling. That's not to say we didn't enjoy them all. I haven't seen a bad beach on STT yet! Ms411 Posted October 12, 2012 #9 Share Posted October 12, 2012 Very few cruisers make it to Hull Bay, because it's off the beaten path for taxis, but is a popular beach for locals who live on "the Northside." There are many activities available from Hull Bay, and there's a restaurant/ bar on the beach. Dawuud of Caribbean Historical Tours takes people there, and the beach is not crowded during week days.
