KI Cruiser Posted August 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2012 I am going to go to the Dolphin encounter in Freeport - but hubby doesn't want to go. Does anyone know if the ship's casino is open while in Freeport? Is there a casino close to port that he can go to?
CruiserBruce Posted August 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2012 I have never, in over 20 years of cruising, heard of a ship's casino being open in port. Pretty sure the cruise lines promise not to compete with shore based activities. And it is illegal in many countries.

We had a great time there a few months ago.
paul929207 Posted August 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2012 Casino is closed while in port. I think they open 30 minutes after you sail

DanJ Posted August 27, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2012 The shuttle vans that pick up at the port and take passengers into town drops them off at the front door of the Isle of Capri casino, across the road from the Lucaya market. It's about a 20 minute ride, and I can't recall the fare, but something like $5 or so.
