Ok......Carnival should not be in the business of making money. Hey you know what...let everyone bring all the booze they want and just add a few hundred dollars to each cruiser's price of their cabin.

I'm drink alot on cruises (more then at home). I KNOW my sign and sail is going to be alot because that's a part of the PRICE of cruising!!! Has nothing to do with being a cheerleader.

By the way and with all due respect.....do you really not understand the concept of running a business for profit ????

Yes. Bob Dickinson did too.

Silly smilly, took our grandson to Disney World last November, still can't stop singing "It's a small world". Somebody bring me a beer so I can get this song out of my head!

Try going to the New York World Fair 64/65, having your parents buy the record, and having a sister who played songs over and over and.......

Tomato-Tomato----Wheather it's a rule or not --- it's still a PITA since they don't offer them. What about the Mom's and Dad's that need their trays to help fill plates for thier small children. Rule or just a stupid decision not to have them, it's still an inconvenience, and bringing one on board it just plain stupid IMHO, and to have to hijack a roomservice tray is kind of crazy too.

:):)

I don't disagree but the thread is about dumb rules and there is no rule about trays in the buffet. I suppose we could have a thread about stupid decisions CCL makes, but there are several of those a day;).

I saw this as well on the Disney website..Beer and alcohol is allowed for the cruiser to carry onboard..WOW..thats awesome....

Yes, that's right...and they also charge a LOT more for their cruise fare than any other mainstream line. I will pay for my booze onboard and pay Carnival's lower fares, and enjoy myself just as much. I prefer to save Disney for Disney World vacations. And I am a huge Disney fan, I just think the prices they charge for their cruise fares are outrageous and can't justify spending that much money for the same ports as other cruise lines that I enjoy.

Oh, and I can't think of any dumb rules...I think many of them are placed for guests' safety, and I certainly don't have a problem following them.

Ok, Fine. Rule or not, I'm not starting another thread. Just wanted to mention it and since others agree too, it does seem to be an issue. I'm sorry for not being a stickler about exact definations of "rule"

Why did you even have to bring it up? Others didn't seem to mind. These boards are about cruise banter and IMO it's a variatioin of a rule since they don't have them to use.

Carry on and continue to monitor what you feel is correct and not correct content. Your issue with this was just uncalled for and is just plain mean and hurtful to me. I would never correct someone on such a small thing. It's like calling someone out on their spelling or grammer errors. I'm not perfect but am moving on from this thread.

Have a great day.

E-cigs emit glycol or glycerine vapor, not water vapor. There is quite a difference btw. ;)

My bad, I thought it was water vapor. Is there any health issues with it? I was understood there was not when I looked into it years ago. Any recent studies saying otherwise?

No cruise lounger hogs or seat savers. What if you want a nice leisurely lunch? Then you have to find another seat! And what if you like to get to the theater early but your friends want to shop?

I seriously hope you are joking in this post...and if you are, I am laughing right there with you!

But, if you are serious (and I know some people really do feel this way), sure, save a couple of tables worth of seats because everyone else feels like shopping and showing up right before (or right after) the show begins, and take away seats from another group who ALL arrived early to get good seats. Just do what you want all the time, all your fellow passengers should find another lounge chair by the pool while you have a leisurely lunch. If everyone actually followed the chair hog rule, maybe there would be chairs available past 6am! This applies to all ships, not just Carnival. And resorts too, for that matter. "I'm gonna do what I want, when I want, no matter who it affects, and no one better get in my way." I think the chair hog rule and no saving seats at the show lounge are some of the BEST cruise rules...if only they would be enforced better.

So then you know and I'm guessing that you blame your sister for your drinking:D Just kidding, I blame my grandson! Just kidding again.

I am truly sorry if I caused any offense, just engaging in some idle cruise banter. If I had known you would take my response so seriously I would not have brought it up.

That is a burnable bottle, not recycable, so they just burn the bottle and the lime. Very wasteful and environmentally unfriendly.

By recycable, I meant that they are washed and re-used.

Try being trapped on a ship with 1000 screaming kids and Disney music playing 24/7 ("It's a small world after all") and you will see why bringing as much alcohol on board as humanly possible is allowed. :D

This made me laugh out loud!

My nomination for dumbest rule is for any cruise not allowing smoking on balconies. Give me a break, it is outside, and when ship is moving, smoke dissipates rapidly.

You're the dumb one if you think that your smoking doesn't bother others on Balconies - Oh yes you could care less as long as you please yourself.

The "rule" I dislike the most is the one that allows folks with no sense of humor at all to post replys on CC. Some people really need to lighten up.

Great. Another laugh! My co-workers are going to start wondering what I'm doing in my cubicle!

Forcing electronic cigarette smokers to vape in smoking areas!!!

I quit smoking 4 years ago, and now smoke an e-cigarette. There is no second hand smoke - it's water vapor. I have made the decision to be healthier for myself and those around me. Why should I have to be forced back around smokers and inhale their second hand smoke. DUMB.

I'm hitting the invisible "LIKE" button! This was what I was going to say. BTW, I use my e-cig discreetly and no one ever knows I'm using it in forbidden areas ;).

I must agree. That smoke comes right around the divider and you can smell it. Heck even stopped at a red light and a smoker letting the smoke out of the cars window 3 cars away you can smell it. I smoked for 40 years and still like a good cigar sometimes, but go far away from those that do not smoke. I can even smell the smoke on you when you walk past me in the hallway. Just saying it would be nice if the ship aloowed smoking in an inside closed off area that non-smokers could not go. The casino is nasty with smoke and I know they would be busier if they band smoking there. JMHO

I have no kids, so I would not subject myself to that, no.

So then you don't realize the kids have an entire deck to themselves, no adults, and the are many adult only areas on the ship, as well as their private island.

Nothing that knocking something you are unfamiliar with and have never experienced.

It has nothing to do with taking it seriously or lightening-up, it has to do with calling someone out on such a small thing. ....and by the way your response was to be taken seriously as you stated it belonged on another thread. It was not idle banter.

I have a great sense of humor but calling someone out due to such small difference in definitions is just not right. It's hurtful and takes the fun out of coming on CC to share good cruise information with others.

CC has really changed a lot since joining in 2010. Why point out small things like spelling, grammer and content of definition to make others feel small? It it supposed to make the one pointing it out feel more superior than those of us that make honest mistakes?

Happy Cruising,

Cari

There's a big difference between not liking the smell of something and it actually being harmful to you. I no longer smoke (and haven't for over 3 years) and don't care for the smell of smoke but I'm smart enough to realize that just being able to smell it in the air outside won't give me lung cancer. I don't care for the smell of diesel exhaust either when I'm out driving around. A "smell" from someone smoking in the distance isn't going to cause you physical harm (unless you're truly allergic to it...and I'm sure most people aren't truly allergic)
